Need to replace hydraulic line but the connection won't budge

You need to turn the outer, larger hex nut that is physically part of the hose assembly. The smaller nuts are usually fixed adapters, and you shouldn't mess with them.

I have never used heat on a hydraulic line, but when using it on most anything else, I heat, then douse with water and repeat two more times for three heat/cool cycles total. It nearly always works.

I am a firm believer in 50/50 acetone and ATF. Wrap a piece of rag around the fitting and keep it soaked for a couple of days. Use wrenches that fit.

In both pictures, hold the hex on the right with a downward pressure but not actually turning it and turn the hex in the middle in the upward direction to loosen
Correctly fitting wrenches is a must or a couple good locking pliers (vice grips) will work too
I have a couple “cheater” pipes that I have pounded the ends into an oval shape to fit over the vice grips.
Persistence is what will get it done
If you decide to use heat be sure to use gloves, face shield and have a fire extinguisher handy
Good luck and keep us posted

Usually, with propper well fitting wrenches (the longer the better) placed in close proximity to one another, a squeeze works better than holding a wrench in each hand. Ask me how I know...40-years experience.
This is spot on advice, concentrates the force. 👍

Ahh the good old double wrench squeeze, used it many times
In addition to it you can set the wrenches up to do the squeeze but instead use another large wrench or bar/pipe between them and pry them against each other for even more force but that has the tendency to make the far end of the wrenches want to move away from each other and the use of a rope or something to keep them from spreading might be needed
If you have a large enough box wrench to slide over the end of one of the wrenches your using it kinda locks it in.

First picture hold the nut on the tube and then spin the hose off. Yes can use some heat but be careful on how much so don’t scorch the oil.

Second picture of quick disconnect the hose end should unscrew and again careful with heat.
Something I have learned from C&C Equipment web site after watching him work on dozers, is that vibration works well on a stuck fitting. He uses an air hammer but I'm sure a few good hits with a hammer will help. I tried the air hammer and it works great. I was working on had lines also.

I have a 1984 Ford 1510 tractor and want to replace four of the hydraulic lines connecting to the front end loader as the rubber has worn off and the metal is rusting. But the connections won't budge. I'm using "wrench extenders" (metal pipes) to give me more leverage, but the nuts simply refuse to move even a little bit. First question: Which nuts do I turn? See attached pictures. Second question: If I am turning the right nuts and they just won't move, can I apply heat (propane torch) to the metal or is this a no-no on lines with hydraulic fluid in them? First pic is the line to the loader, second is line to the controller. Any help appreciated.

Try warming it with a hair dryer and then applying penetraiting fluid. Repeat the fluid application over a few days warming each time before trying to seperate them. That usually does it for me. Another trick is to tighten the wrenched connections a bit if you can to break the corrosion and then apply more fluid. Even if it moves just a tiny fraction it can be enough to break it loose and then walk it back and forth to get it off. If the quick coupling is stuck warm that too and hit it with fluid as well then try rotating it. The lock balls get stuck and that will sometimes free them.
