As you know the movie was about the Government giving the citizens a lethal green drink when they reached a certain age and showing them a movie of their life as they died..It was to save the government money on health care since the old person had lived the life years the govt. deemed satisfactory. Is that not what you meant.?

That's right Moss, if it ain't a Post Road as specified by the Constitution, rip it up I keep waiting for someone to describe this wonderful country they are envisioning. I can hardly wait to get there

Actually, a jury of your peers has the power of life and death over you, not the government. If you are executed, it will be because 12 good men and women voted to recommend the death penalty and a judge upheld their verdict.

The government is carrying out the wishes of the private citizen jury - no?

Of course, you may be subject to rendition - in which case all bets are off.

To banish criminals we would need to declare one of 50 states a penal colony. Nominations? It wouldn't be fair to choose Hawaii since they took their turn already as a leper colony.

BIG difference that I have pointed out before,all the services that you mention(police, fire etc) are taxed at the local level.

In my time I have seen innocent people go to jail and be executed,and when you think that the government is not the driving force behind it you IMHO are being naive.
You don't have to look to far to see examples of what I'm talking about. If you want, I can trot some out. But I think that you can think of many examples yourself

BTW Why do you think we need to use a state?
I can think of a nice little island in the Caribbean, that might just work
