Rear Blade Adjustment Preferences

Understood, and I do want a blade that has side shields and skid shoes as an option which is why I bought the one I did. However, for me a tail wheel adds complication, cost and reduces maneuverability when a lighter blade will accomplish the same thing.

That is a really nice blade!! Have you tried adjusting the top link of the 3 point hitch? If you make it shorter the edge will not cut in as much and if you make it longer the edge cuts in more. This theory also applies to when the blade is swung 180 degrees which is better for smoothing loose material.

Thanks, yes I shortened the top link to get it to lift enough to transport. I'll keep using it while I look for another one so maybe I'll get more comfortable.

Yes, hydraulics would be nice but I don't have any rear remotes so cost of adding them and hydraulics will be more than having a light and heavy blade.

Gauge wheels will make your nice blade work the way you want for less money than a cheap lightweight blade.

I HAD that exact Woods blade. What a piece of junk. Could NEVER keep the bolts tightened. The bolts eventually broke, I replaced with grade 8 bolts. Still could not get bolts tightened to keep blade angled. Traded in for another Woods blade without the extension option. Very happy with new blade.

I also have that blade. Totally agree the bolts are a complete joke. I finally mounted a side link to adjust the tilt. Lost the offset but well worth it. Its not a super heavy blade but it works surprisingly well.
