PTO generator selection help

A 13 kw standby has a minimum 250 gal tank due to the amount of vapor it pulls. I have seen alot of issues with shut down on 100 gal tanks

how come units are not liquid pull? too costly?

After thinking about the PTO generator, costs, and potential usage I am leaning toward a 13kW propane driven generator and a 100 gal propane tank.

Should get it done for less than $1800.00

Where are you getting a 13 kW standby generator and tank for less than $1800?

I would guess that it's not a good fit for air cooled engines,
and also unless it had a block heater to get a liquid cooled engine to temp quickly it would have a hard time vaporizing fuel.
One of the old propane tractors I ran had a vapor draw to get it started then you released the button and let the liquid draw vaporizer handle
the fueling but it had to get up a bit in temperature before you could work it or it would run out of fuel and you would have to clutch and wait for it to catch up and run good.

only the real large liquid cooled generators use liquid propane draw. rest are vapor draw.

I don’t think that is going to happen with a single 100 lb cylinder.
It’s doubtful that you would even be able to maintain the maximum load on the generator depending on outdoor temp.

Maybe I said it before in this thread. Here, PTO sets are always listed in farm mag classified ads, CHEAP! I bought a 15K Onan years ago from a defunct chicken farm for $500.00 CDN. Mind you money was worth a lot more back then. I would consider it very foolish to buy one new.

Sorry, if it runs at all it will be on a summer day.
Also it will only run at a partial load and even then less then a day.
