Pilot Control Spring Mod

Installed the pilot spring mod to my TT-17. Bit of a guess how to get the boot off and on the left hand joystick I took off the plastic top of control cover (2 side Phillips screws, a 10mm bolt hidden under armrest stem and disconnect wires.) to find out I could simply pop the rubber boot off to get at the control plungers to add springs. Helped though for stretch fitting boot back on the base.

The right hand joystick I just worked the base of the boot off in the arm recess and added springs before working to stretch it back on. Not sure if I got it perfect but I will find out. Tight quarters in this cab unit.

Thanks for this update @MattB4 ! I have noticed that the majority of installs are around 5-15 minutes. Mine (AGT KU18e) was a bit more involved and probably took me 20 minutes or so. Nothing special needed as far as tools go. Looking forward to your thoughts after taking the kit for a spin.

Working with a customer in Australia...found out the UHI UME15P mini digger, similar to the Rippa R10, has direct-actuated pilot controls. Looks compatible on the outside, but the spring mod kits are not compatible on the inside. Any other brands out there with this type of system?

USE CASE: SANY SY75 - A couple days ago I received feedback from a customer who runs a land clearing / forestry mulching company. He owns a Sany SY75. He and his crew love the mod and that it "smooths everything out". While still an imported machine (I believe), much bigger and more mainstream than the smaller Chinese mini imports.

Are there other name brands that could benefit from this mod?

Working on some cool pilot control spring mod enhancements. A relatively frequent concern I see/hear about from forum threads is that the springs could scratch the pilot valve plungers. For my current GEN2 kit I addressed this by incorporating a custom coiling feature that prevents the cut wire ends from contacting the chrome surface of the plungers. One of my upcoming enhancements is a protective insert that will prevent all metal-on-metal contact in the critical bottom .250" of the plunger.

Why not just take apart the spools and replace the original springs with stiffer ones of the same dimensions?
