So I am building a deer blind that will be sitting on 12' posts. I am building the blind at the house and will carry into the back property, attach the posts and stand it up using my L2502. Looking for suggestions on the safest way of doing this. Can't get a truck in the area, only my tractor and ATV. I think the max lift height on my loader is 8' to the pins so with the forks tilted up, I should be able to reach 12' to push it up. I was thinking of tying a rope to it so that as it's pushed up, it can't fall backwards from the momentum. Any thoughts?

You have a winch on atv? I pull up my stand with atv winch with rope tided back other side so it doesn't continue over , You can also use tractor to pull up ,over till tipping point , then use atv winch to then let down slowly from other side { remote winches make it a one man job}

My Rubicon doesn't have a winch on it but sounds like it needs one!

Could you rig something like this for your FEL bucket?

You could also clamp a 4X4 to your fork tines to get some added height.

Or pull it up using a pivot pole

Your pivot pole could be cut at blind location, out of a small tree. Would cut down on materials carried!
With a couple of snatch blocks, you could use the tractor for pulling it up and control at the same time. It just requires some longer rope. You would pull through the rear block while the front rope goes through other block for control.
Just plan it all out before installing to try not to forget everything you'll need. Put it on paper and check it off! Made that mistake before.

If you have the legs properly braced, then get it off the trailer, laying flat, it should be able to be pulled upright with a rope/strap without issue. Just kinda block the bottom of the "lower" legs and pull it into standing position. If that's a bit unlevel/plumb, you can always lift by wrapping a rope/strap on the legs once standing and lift one side, shovel to level, and lower until happy. If it's not stable enough to stand from laying to standing, and X bracers from about 18" up to the top, using 2x4x14 PT (or 2x4x16)

I've used the Pivot post method to raise a couple of Tower stands

  1. Make sure legs are cross based
  2. Slightly elevate the top of stand (I use a concrete block)
  3. Stake in front of the legs on the ground so they don't slide
  4. Connect rope/cable/chain/strap to platform
  5. Set pivot post (I dig it in a few inches) - Loop rope/cable/chain/strap over pivot post
  6. Slowly pull it up while helpers (or ATV) pull on ropes on the back side to slow the tipping once over center
  7. At some point the pivot post will fall aside, but the rope is taught enough at that point
  8. Level the blind
