Forks Need attachment advice for moving brush piles

I’ve got brush piles piling up around my property and I need to move them where they can be burned. I’m working with a kioti ck 30 (30hp) with a 5ft FEL and ratchet rake. Looking for some type of brush fork. What do y’all recommend? Grapple is not in the budget.

It's not really a very good picture. The backhoe is being moved by the JD forks. But I got this (old style) bale grapple thrown in when we bought our JD 6200. I mounted it to a fork carrier and use it to move brush. It will carry way more than a normal grapple.

It's also great for loading up with branches that have been cut off. Every now and then you compact the load to pile more on. You don't lose one on the way to the pile, and just dump it.

Two pair of clamp-on forks, or a clamp-on brush fork. Depending on your brush piles, a rope or strap over the top of the load may be needed.

Moving how far? Distance has a lot to say on what is most effective.

I've moved a LOT of debris using old truck hoods, skidding. Strapped stuff in my bucket, etc.. Of course, I've also moved a lot of debris by pushing with my box blade: simultaneously have drug with the bucket (tooth bars are really effective). The former is for longer distances, while the later is for very short distances.

I got by for several years with a set of clamp on forks. If that is not in the budget you can make a pair very inexpensively with some 2x4's and bolts. A neighbor friend of mine did just that for his B7800 and has gotten good use out of them for little $$$.

I have Hayne's Clamp-On Aluminum Debris Forks. An excellent product however light brush tends to run away from the blunt fork tips rather than load, unless debris is backstopped by a tree. Forks lift more dirt than I like sliding under brush piles.

Debris Forks pick up up heavier debris with greater inertia, fine.

While I have not used Bucket Solution's UltraFork, I would give this attachment consideration. I think UltraForks would slide under brush piles and pick them up with a minimum of dirt.
(I have a Bucket Spade from Bucket Solutions, fabrication is excellent.)

If you only want to transport brush and vines, not tree sections, a Field Cultivator will hook and tow debris piles with barely any debris loss and hardly any dirt. I often work with Ratchet Rake on the FEL bucket and Field Cultivator mounted on the Three Point Hitch. Field Cultivator is about the same price as quality Debris Forks, around $800.

(Five tractor horsepower required for each Field Cultivator tine.)

I have some regular 4' pallet forks and it works like a charm for big piles you wouldn't believe. If you only have to move the pile a couple hundred feet just fork it and lift it a couple feet and off you go. The pile has a tendency to stick together when a bunch of weight is added. I do like jeff9366 brush fork setup also.

For less money than some of those clamp on forks cost...you can get a thumb grapple and curl circuit diverter or even a separate scv...! Shop Online

You will be surprised how much you will use a good pair of pallet forks. Some of the first advice I got on TBN was to try them before investing in a grapple. I am still saving that grapple money!

Kinda funny but I've never seen used pallet forks for sale.

You don't know the right people. Fork lift places always have a supply, all different sizes. Usually a couple hundred bucks CDN. I took my first set to HORST and they made up a JD 640 carrier to accommodate them. Pretty sure, those days are long gone, but a good shop will do it.

What do y’all think of titan debris forks. The 60” are $260. Seems like a good price. Only thing that concerns me is the forks are only 21” long.

I like that you can buy Worksaver Forks with SSQA and John Deer QA to the FEL. You improve visibility of debris piles and increase payload capacity a bit by eliminating the bucket.

However, I like the design of Bucket Solutions' Ultra Forks a little better. Ultra Forks seem a little beefier (170 pounds/60" vs. 146 pounds/60") and individual tines unscrew so you can vary spacing or replace one easily. Varying the tine spacing allows carrying verdure with less dirt included.

The tines on my Hayne's aluminum debris forks are 19" long; five fork tines spaced over 54" width, outside to outside. I have never wanted more depth.

Several respondents suggest some pallet fork tasks are best handled with two pairs of pallet forks.

I use 600 or 850 pounds of Three Point Hitch mounted counterbalance when lifting and transporting verdure with my debris forks on my L3560 with LA805 loader, about 1,700 pounds lift capacity.
