So what do you guys do if some implements are 26.5" or 27"? Modify????
I bought longer pins and shimmed my little 4 ft disc. An all-thread pin using an inner and outer nut would have worked too.

Expect some minor modifying like this to bring everything closer to 'standard'.

My other implements matched the width close enough to connect up.

I've read here of many owners who completed 'final assembly' of their HFQH by widening its base with a Hi-Lift jack. (Called 'Farm Jack' at HF.)

Note HF sells (used to sell?) two different width Cat I QH's plus a Cat II.

I suggest measure everything you own before buying one.

"So what do you guys do if some implements are 26.5" or 27"? Modify????"

I made a combination three-point trailer hitch and quick hitch adapter for my "non-iMatch" attachments.

Runner,

You wouldn't happen to have some more pictures of your 3-pt trailer hitch and quick hitch would you?

The post above is the first I've read of someone tearing one up. Has anyone else with a 40 hp or smaller tractor done this too?

I haven't had any problems with mine in the last yr that I'v had it. I use it with a box blade and my chipper.

The quick hitch adapter also acts as a mount for my boom pole.

Here are a few pictures:

my tractor has cat 2 hook up and my implements are cat 1 so i use the lil bushings my question is i know the hitch hooks up to the tractor as a cat 2 ok no problem there but where the implement hooks onto the QH is that cat 2 also so i would still need the bushings on the equipment its not a problem to keep it that way would it be better to get the cat 1 hitch and drill it out to cat 2

Although my quick hitch is a speeco, I ran into the same problem with my Leinbach Yard Tool aka pulverizer. Here are some pictures of the mod.

Basically I just cut the 2 angle iron strips from the main frame and moved them inwards just enough the the black arms could match up on the outside of the angle iron. Hard to explain, easy to see. Also had to notch out the angle right underneath the pin so the hitch would be able to slide under and connect.

Now after doing all that, I am ready to sell the Yard Tool because I have replaced it with a Harley Rake. :)

Picked up the 27-1/2" cat 1 HF quick hitch on Monday with a $79.99 coupon. Just looked at my rear blade and it needs the hitch adapter.

Called HF customer service and it is $17.79 with shipping, expected arrival 5 to 7 days.

In the mean time, I'll work on sandblasting and painting the rear blade and making some of the mods that others have done to their HF quick hitch, like replacing the hook bolts with pins.

Fingers crossed that the pto shaft for the brush hog extends enough to fit with the QH.

Thanks for the ideas.

Mine bent as well. Kubota l3700su. Was brush hogging, backing up and lightly tapped a tree while turning. My fault. Spread the two lower hooks enough for one of the pins to slip out. Picked up a used land pride qh. Quite a difference in the two as far as weight and construction. Haven't decided what to do with the hf qa as it could be straightened and reinforced.

Anybody have a working number for the adaptor? Everything I type in comes up blank.

What adapter?
Which post are you refering to?

Its mentioned early on in the thread that HF has an adaptor for the top hook attachment on the Cat 1 QH. It was mentioned it helps with implements that sometimes don't fit or meet Cat 1 design standards. When I search for the numbers listed, nothing comes up. It's an old thread, maybe it's not available anymore.

I needed an adapter for one implement, so I made one.

Two 3/8 x 2.5 bars about 9 inches long. Hole (3/4) in each end. Pin them on and go.

Back then you had to call HF's Customer Service to order it. About $18 including shipping. I think this still applies today.

Try this one, 29309-0VGA

when you call to order it, may have to give them the part number for the QH and they should be able to look it up that way as a accessory for it.

I put that number into Google 29309-0VGA and it hit dozens of articles and posts confirming that's correct. Reading those links would be a good introduction for anyone who wants to know more about the QH.

When I ordered mine, I just phoned HF Customer Service and said I wanted a 'top link for a HF Quick Hitch'. She knew the number already, and wrote up the order immediately. Their order-by-phone service works pretty well.

I ordered a few of the adapters back in July. I had to call the # that is listed for questions and tell them i wanted the adapter referenced on the page of the manual. They sent it in a few days. I think they were $13 or $14 dollars a piece.
