Mixing container for 2-stroke fuel

I have been using the same Ratio Rite I had in the 80s and mix 1 gallon at a time.

Robot or human?

I have a two gallon gas container before all the silly gas can rules. I buy the small Stihl containers for 2 gallons.
I kept a few Stihl bottles and buy 2-stroke oil by the quart, then refill the bottles, much cheaper.
Now that I have a 40V Ryobi chainsaw for trimming and de-limbing down trees, I;ll probably never use up this last quart.

I use the cans that the premixed fuel came in, made of metal with a tight fitting lid. Pour in the right amount of oil, then fill it with gas and maybe shake it a little. And, it is already labeled as premixed two stroke fuel.

I don't go through a lot, so I use a half gallon plastic whiskey jug. Got a small beaker from AS&S that's marked at 1oz, and a plastic kitchen measure. Make 40 oz of 40:1, easy to shake and mix, easy to see how much is left, and easy to tell it from the straight gas. And easy to fill small tanks.

Ditto! So easy even I can do it right every time.

OH! And I try to NOT empty the mix fuel can down to the last drop. When the new OIL is poured in, the old fuel easily sloshes into a good mix for when the fresh gasoline is pumped in.
Sometimes I stop mid fill and give the can a bit of a slosh as well. I trust the turbulence during the fill does a great mix job. I've been doing it this way for more than 65 years without troubles (except I used to need to measure out the oil from a quart can or bottle). These "pre-measure" 50:1 bottles are the cat's pajamas!

Once I went to canned fuel, my small gas can I used for pre mix gets the canned fuel put in it as it's easier to fill saws and the like from it rather than the clunky gallon metal cans the canned fuel comes in. Canned fuel has a much longer life than pre mixed corn squeezed gas.

50 to 1 works with any thing. 3 oz or so to one gallon. I don't have different mixes for the two stroke stuff. Even if they call for 30 or so. Never had an issue burning any thing up. The two strokes fail, always for other reasons.

I actually use a tablespoon if I have a bulk bottle of two stroke oil. I printed out a chart for how many tablespoons per ounce. I often buy the little bottles of oil that you dump in a gallon of gas. No mixing involved, just dump it in a gas can, fill and shake a little. Just dump it in a full tank of fuel in your car or truck if it gets a little old.

I run the old stuff through the four stroke lawn mowers. A little smoky... so what. :)
