And speaking of flail mowers, I'm working on some field clearing and when I get done I have what amounts to a hairy field with all the roots sticking out.

Do you think my flail (Caroni TM1900) would mow these roots? Or would that be flail abuse?

Asssuming you have the finish flail mower rotor with four rows of side slicers I do not see a problem
AS LONG AS you back over them to the very end of th eland clearing and then crive forward over them.

Do you have a belly brush guard to protect tthe underside of the mule?? I would be more worried about
that first and formost!!

Does someone here know what model Vrisimo flail this is that showed up on my local CL? It's listed as an "8 foot" cutter, though that may be its overall width. It looks to be a precursor to the current Super Series. The most distinctive feature is what appears to be a completely rounded belt housing top with vents. Would parts be available for it? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the 3 hour round trip to scope it out. Thanks.

It should be a 3 row finish flail mower and well worth the trip.
Parts are still available as the majority of them are generic-i.e,,

The V belts are metric, the bearings are metric and the knives are
available from several sources, the manufacturer is in California
and still in business.

It will only need a new PTO shaft, a new set of kevlar belts, and few new knives,
but still worth the trip as you are looking at almost 5 figures with tax if new in that size mower frame.

Check to see if the ID plate is either on the box weldment, bottom of the mower shroud or under the V belt guard to find the serial number.

There are a couple of stumps in there that I'd go slowly over but the majority of the stuff sticking up would be easy work for a TM1900.
