Just had a sickening thought

My dad was turning into a store parking lot last week and the car stopped. Wouldn't go forward or backwards. Got out and looked, front tire was turned 90 degrees, axle pulled out of transmission, or something like that. If that had happened while he was on the highway, who knows what would have happened.

And always watch out for falling anvils.

What if your driving down a hill and the steering wheel comes off in your hand and THEN a tire blows out at the same time?
Which then causes you to crash into your barn knocking you unconscious and leaving the tractor running which then kills you from CO poisoning.

I think...you think to much.
I would not worry about this.
Each time you hit the road...somebody can hit you and get killed....
We can't wrap ourselves in bubble wrap all the time...just in case something might maybe, probably not, go wrong !

But if you wrap yourself up in bubble wrap, what if the all interior ones pop at once, causing high pressure, contained by the outer layer, and you can't inhale?

Or what if the bubble wrap gets wrapped around your mouth suffocating you.

Decades ago several friends and I decided to take our motocross bikes to a track about 75 miles away. I had a truck so we put 3 in it while a friend with a Honda Civic pulled the other two on one of those real cheap trailers with 8" wheels. I would say we did 65 mph on the interstate. After about 15 minutes after getting there we were putting on our gear and one of the tires on the trailer exploded. It's the first time and only time I've seen this. Of course it was probably the cheapest quality Chinese made tire. Anything can happen but the odds on a tire not just deflating but exploding when just standing still has to be extremely low.

If your tractor is really low I guess it could happen. Most of them the wheel would hit the ground before you got crushed. I wouldn't worry about it to much unless you have a tube poking out the side of your tire. I would say your chances of getting hit by lightning are greater.

More likely he would be injured from the force of the blown tire than crushed by the tractor.

At high speed it had lots of cooling air going by. After stopping, the heat couldn't escape.

Yep. Have had wagon tires blow just sitting in the hot sun.

Did you hear the one about the atomic physicist running around fearing falling through the atomic structure of the universe?

This subject's best point is that of approaching something with caution. While the issue of a tractor crushing someone due to a "tire blow-out" is pretty darn remote, it's thoughts like this that cause us to pause and think, and that pause (and thought) might also cause us to take note of something that's truly a more up-front threat. But then again.... A person might be stuck thinking about this such that he steps off a sidewalk and into the path of an on-coming vehicle!

My rears are ballasted. I'm now shopping for scuba gear!

From the Farm Show in Raleigh... portable jacks and a big old tractor. It would stink to have one of these tires blow!!!

I have had my hydro tractor creep a little bit when I had my foot close to the front of the tire. I caught it in time but I would hate to be stuck with my foot jammed under a tire and all I have with me is a rusty jackknife.

The rusty jackknife explains why you were out of your running hydro tractor without the hand brake set.
