How do you like your RTV500

Thinking of getting a RTV500. Anyone have any insight? How do you folks that have them like them? Just need it for light duty and the wife's use. Also considering gator cx, mule 610 etc.

Haven't run the 500 but love the 900. Looks like a good way to go though. EFI and hydro puts it ahead of some of the others. I don't care for the belt drive ones much.

I got mine two weeks ago, have 9 hr's on it and used about 1/2 tank of gas. Hauled 5 deer, firewood and general junk. Performs well in climbing and engine ****** braking is great coming down hills.
Trying to find accessories (windshield, roof canopy) right now is hard because these machines
have only been out since Sept 08. (Expensive)
I.m putting on a rear cargo light and it will also serve as a reverse light. A small light on the dash will be next.
The wife runs it mostly now!!!!

Sounds good. Much easier to justify to the wife then. She likes to use my BX22.

Bought one of the first in WA state, about three months ago. Mainly for my wifes use around our property, but I've managed to get in some quality time on it also. Runs great, very quiet, just the right thing for light duties around the place. We have also taken into some pretty rough terrain on an adjacent 200 acre tree farm on hilly rocky trails. No problems.

So far so good..I was concerned about the power, but I found out that the VHT gears down if you let off the gas when it starts to slow down. Believe it or not that works. Got the snow plow for it this weekend...Holy cow is that a heavy duty unit. Hasn't snowed enough to use it yet, that will be the ultimate test. I have 1000 feet of road to plow so we'll see.
Accessory prices are really high..Hopefully the aftermarket comes around.

Seems to be really well built, handles well, climbs like a goat and is really quiet.

Also the size is an advatage for me, it's about 3/4 the size of a gator. So maneuvering it in tight spaces is no problem.

I would recomment it for general use.

I'll let you know. If you mean by float...It can push completely on the ground. I'm going to get an acrylic cutter for the bottom so that i don't relieve my driveway of all it's gravel. The actuator allows pretty much any height within the height range. When I get some snow I'll let you know.

I have owned a Kawasaki Mule 610 since May 2005 (when they started selling 'em) and have almost 500 hours on it. Other than routine maintenance I haven't touched it. No problems.

It fits in the back of my truck and has worked it's butt off here on my farm. Its saved excessive wear and tear on my knees and back. Plus the wife luvs to drive it. (Honey while your up at the barn hows about mucking out those stalls). <G>

It doesn't go 55 but with the narrow trails and steep hills 'round here
it doesn't need to.

Gas powered - Air cooled - belt drive. Sometimes simple is better.

Has anyone else put a plow on the 500?...The cutting bar seems to be too big, about 5 inches high. I cant find anything to put on the bottom of the plow to prevent moving gravel around. i used a machine belt on my quad and that worked. This has a 2" reveal from the bottom of the plow to the bottom of the bar..Any rubber will just fold under. I really dont want to cut the bar down...Any suggestions?

Someone mentioned in other posts about taking a piece of 3" sched 40 PVC, cut it to the width of the blade, then put a slice in it and slide it onto the blade. It will push snow and not dig into the gravel.

I plan to try this on my backblade?????????? one of these days????????????
(didn't do it 2007, 2008 maybe this year!!!!!!)
