ovrszd,
thanks for the reply. And yes I enjoyed the dig to Aaron.
Keep warm. Spring is not that far away.
John

John, us Northerners won't even say the word "spring" for another month. We're very dry up here, been below normal temps and the wind has blown almost every day for the last 60 days.

Better wait until Sunday and find out what Phil has to say. Feb. 2nd.

Screw that overrated rodent!!! If he says 6 more weeks of winter, I say choot 'em, choot 'em!!!! :D

Up here the thinking is that on Feb 1st you better have half your hay and half your wood left because winter is only half over. Sometimes i'm jealous about you guys that might have spring in six weeks on the say of a ground hog.

the ground hog is an over rated celebrity and a fake like all celibs. :groundhog:

Plus he'll make a mess of your vegetable garden in a heartbeat.
The Plant Manager runs after them with her pellet gun whenever she sees one.
They can move surprisingly fast when they have a notion to do so.

I'm not so sick of Winter that I'm in the mood for unremitting mud just yet.

Actually, there are four things. The other two:
1. JB Weld for things that are leaking that shouldn't
2. Baling wire for stuff that needs to move a little, but not too much.

Clever rock bucket design, makes it possible to build one without expensive plasmas/etc. and just a simple bender! I might try that this year, how much solid rod did you end up using?

I bought 5 20' pieces and have 8 'left over. $45 ea Spacing is about 2" Used 1" hot rolled (I think it was hot rolled . The cheaper of the 2, hot or cold rolled) Bought the skid steer plate for $100. Used 2x 4 tube for framework and 3/8 plate for the sides. I tacked it all together nd had a welder get it solid as I doesn't have a big enough welder.
Whole thing was $550.
Each of the bars took close to 200 pumps on the manual hydraulic bender.
The welder suggested a last piece welded under the front plate on the bottom for more support.
Last thing the bucket front is 2 pieces a 4" wide and a 1" wide to form a lip

If I have enough hay to get through March, I'm usually OK till around November.
