I'm building a small building (21' x 22') for tractor storage and I am going to build two sliding doors, a five footer and a nine footer. I know about the faults of rolling doors, but my mind is made up and I don't want to be confused with facts. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can anyone offer advice on a roller and track system? Are some better than others, or do I just get whatever I can find at my local building supply? Any tips for making it work as smoothly as possible?

Give these guys a look. Leatherneck
Decent price and quality. Richard Wilcox is another. I seem to recall some of their product is a resell of Leatherneck and others. Been awhile.

You might check out what Morton Buildings uses. They are very easy to open and Morton says they stay that way. (I think they said something about the design that keeps the birds from nesting in there.)

( Tom,
Here is what I have on my barn doors. They do not hang from a rail. The rest on the floor and have a guide on top... )

Chris, I remember seeing those doors when you posted them, but I can't find the original post now. The wheels are very clever and the doors are beautiful. I'm not sure mine will be in the same league. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In your original post you mentioned where you got the great looking wheels, but I can't remember it now.

Thanks

Thanks 1bush2hog, but I couldn't get that link to work. I did find a brand called CannonBall Track Systems in my local United Building Center that seemed like a nice smooth system. Of course, it didn't have two hundred pounds of door hanging on it either. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have Cannonball rollers and overhead track; my shed door is only 8x8 but works very well. In this area, you can get 'em at Agway.
