71, wet to 80.

Plow, that sounds awful. Really hope you get better today.

BEF, neat looking lumber store. I'm guessing in Michigan.

Need to do a dump run yesterday, even though it was drizzling...Took Della and we did the fun hike to the river on the way home. Met one hiker out in the wet woods...had a Bernese mountain dog/poodle mix. Nice dog. Wife made homemade vegetable soup...so good, with a couple of those Cheesecake Factory brown rolls.

Good morning! 60˚F , up early to welcome Fall, it feel like it's really here now. only heading to the mid 80s.

After striking out on Ebay and the previous owners I ordered two wifi plugs for the outdoor landscape lights. I had to look around a bit for a physical connection that was to the side of the plug or bottom and outdoor compatible to fit in the stainless steel box. Didn't need an expensive control box, technology has an app for that and a $17 plug.

My above water robot skimmer came in yesterday and I charged it up last night. I still need to put a pool noodle vertical at the pool's skimmer so it won't get stuck there as recommended by the manufacture. It is also solar powered so I'll see if it will run all day on this full sun day. My neighbor, who is moving to Alaska gave me his pool noodles right after I ordered some from Amazon so another Amazon return. With the next-door neighbors house sold there are now no custom homes for sale in the neighborhood. The new neighbors will move in in the middle of October, can't wait to meet them.

PT was very strenuous yesterday and I felt a little sore last night but an Ibuprofen helped, still no narcotics needed. The physical therapist who helped me before the surgery said that my range of motion has surpassed the pre surgery limits that I had, now I just need to get my left arm stronger while continuing to push the range limitations trying to match my right shoulder. I started on weights in PT yesterday. Today is 4 weeks since surgery. Next milestone is 6 weeks when the limits are tested and all healing is supposed to be done.

Today's project, in these mild temps, will be to scrub/wash the outdoor furniture cushions and maybe my first time to mow the yard after surgery to give my wife a break.

Good morning, the low is 51 and going to a high of 68°F. Wind NW 5 mph. 30% chance of showers. Scotch mist right now.

IF it doesn't rain, then the lights will get done.

I got my new filter wrench and drill pump from amazon along with the genuine Kioti oil filter, all I am waiting for is the oil.

I just heard on Sirius-XM that you guys on the east coast of the U.S. are in for another hurricane. Stay safe!

I am going to wait and see what the MTO is going to say about my license. It is in their hands now. My 'A' license is spotless and has been for the past 20 years. The only accident I have been involved in was two labour days ago when that guy hit my trailers. He was charged with careless driving (admitted he 'fell asleep' to the cop). I am still dropping the 'A' to a 'G'. The A is for big trucks and dump trucks. The G will allow me to drive a car/pickup and pull a trailer up to 10,000 lbs.
Tickets and accidents have a bearing on their decisions, too.
My son has survived the past 41 years without a drivers license (never had one) so I think I can too. Cancelling my car insurance would save me $1471.oo/year. I could probably get 5 grand for the car. I WILL ask 5 and settle for 4500.
But first I need to hear what the MTO has to say.

You all stay safe if you are in the path of the hurricane. The rest of you stay safe anyway.

Last 2 days were 99% in bed sleeping due to cold/flu. Not used to such severity of symptoms. I'm guessing for a repeat today.

Everyone have a great day !!!
Oh my, hope you feel better soon.
Being that sick is no fun.

Hope it continues healing and getting stronger. The new 6 million dollar man! :)
Prayers for our team.

Good Morning.
65° with a high of 75 and a chance of thunderstorms.

Yesterday it drizzled on and off throughout the day, but we got less the .1 inches overall.
Painters are continuing to make progress, the backsplash got grouted, and the range got fixed. My only concern with the repair, is that he didn’t find anything wrong, just methodically unplugged and reconnected all the connectors, and it worked when he was done. He didn’t notice any that seemed problematic, so I don’t know where the problem was. But it works! I cooked lasagne in it for dinner last night. Wife thought I was nuts, walking over there to cook, until I explained I wanted to use it for a while to make sure that the repair was permanent.

Not sure what today will bring, a Costco run might be in order, I need to check the kitchen sink drain in the old folks home. It was dripping from where the basket seals to the sink. I went against my instinct and used the gasket that came with the basket instead of bedding it in putty like I always have. It’s now bedded in putty and didn’t appear to leak last night, I left the sink full and put a dry bucket under the drain, my guess is that it’s still dry, but we’ll see.

Tomorrow morning I’ve got to leave the house by 4:15 am to take a trip to Akron. Good news is that I leave Akron at 11am, so I’ll be home in time to get into some mischief.

Good Morning,
Vt,54 to start going to 64 ! Yesterday it never made it out of the 50’s even though they promised 64 ! So today we shall see !

I did manage to get the rest of the field bush hogged yesterday ! I’m glad I did because it’s pouring now ! Rained most of the night and looks like it will do more of the same today. We are heading back today, I have to work tomorrow!

I was happy to get at least some shop time in yesterday, and will go out there this morning and clean things up before we go.

is some way to store it to minimize coffee drying out
Mostly, could you just put the coffee in a sealed plastic bag ? Or better yet if you have one of those machines that sucks the air out of the bag ? Just a thought!

Bill, so I have to tell you what happened at my drug test last week. I was told that I didn’t need an appointment at Quest Diagnostics ! I arrived at 9:30 and checked in at their kiosk and sat down. About 20 minutes later a girl comes out to tell me I either have to wait until 1:30pm or just go home and then come back! 😒 I finally had to agree to all of this nonsense! The only plus was that my employer had to pay for all this wasted time, so I made a few extra bucks ! 😀

Hope all have a good Thursday! 🙏

Morning all, 66 going to 78 and cloudy , light rain. less than 1/4 inch so far, but we'll take it.
Got some more plantings and cleanup done.

Uncle may get out of hospital today and back to his apartment under 24x7 care. That hopefully will cheer him up, back brace and all.

Happy Anniversary David/Sodamo !

The main Ghiardelli store in San Francisco used to actually make chocolate there, we got to watch that little mixer hum along.

Scotty - good to have long term (chair) goals :)

Drew - Flagstaff is always much cooler due to elevation and on the way to grand canyon as a bonus.

Don-sounds like good progress, hope the 6 weeks is even better than expected

Be well,

Some visitors yesterday

Ken, Flagstaff will be tomorrow and I will slow down and play tourist along route 40.
today I head East on 10, take the 303 bypass North around Phoenix and arrive in Mayer AZ.

I was supposed to do laundry at place here, so thankfully next place has coin ops also.
warning light on dash
Low Underwear

headed outside to unhook soon. Might as well leave early; folks at next place said just fine to come in early. Just going to take my time.
coffee sure helped this morning.
at least another dry day and more bugs to splatter

good morning, 70 going to 78 and rain stopped this morning. Rained all night

Stay at home day and hope to get a few pending things done among others find out where that exhaust leak is on the van. Want to make sure it does not fry any wiring nearby.

Drew hope you enjoy AZ. We lived in Bullhead city one of the warmest towns in the US. We had a swamp cooler only but it actually did a pretty good job of keeping it cool because of the low humidity

seems I'm getting due for a haircut.
don't like longer hair when hot out though mine is so thin
now...
maybe Ted has a place, Monday we are headed out Indian jewelry hunting for folks back home and might see if I can get my hair cut by Indian Joe.
This whole area of the West is dominated by Indian reservations.

Frits, I had never seen 7 percent humidity before.
I'm having to drink more, just seems like I'm drying out faster.
probably because I am

I have been very impressed by enormous size of windmill farms near Palm Springs and the solar farms in this area. They are absolutely enormous if you look on the map.
at one point the windmill farms came right up to the highway, which seemed a safety concern to me, since when they catch fire and explode they often chuck their blades....

but for at least a minute driving by drivers can see up close the blades going round and round, both sides of highway, whole place spinning away. Blades on top of mountains, blades in the valleys. I sure hope they make a lot of electricity because they sure are ugly. Of course the folks on Cape Cod don't want to look at them either.

onward

The last time that happened to me, I thanked them and told them I could use the extra time to sober up, hoping that might get their attention (it didn’t).

Good Morning Again,
Scotty - good to have long term (chair) goals :)
Thanks Ken ! 😉

Paul, that’s thinking quickly! I’ve never been accused of that but I like that idea ! 😉

For those that may wonder of you can slice a piece of wood on the table saw that’s only .010 thick ! Yes it is possible with a little patience, ok maybe a lot of patience and a sharp blade ! Hopefully this will correct a couple of my dados that are slightly too big , along with a bit of sanding ! 🙏

Good morning! Low of 46°, heading up to 86°. Sunny. Today will be the hottest day of the week. Then supposed to cool into the 70's....(seems I heard this last week).

Still didn't get to fix the tractor tire.... filled it up to 40psi, down to 8 psi 24 hours later. Maybe today I'll run it up to the tire shop.

Scott, getting closer to completion..... how long have these been in process?.... 2 years might be good target.....

Bill, sorry to hear about the hassle with the doc and the forms. Hopefully a fair outcome is heading your way.

Plowhog, hope you can get over the illness quickly. Always seems that fall illnesses are worse.

Don, good to read your shoulder is doing great!

Drew, getting out of that heat is a very good idea! Definitely cooler east of there! You'll probably run through pocket areas of higher temps.
Be careful going through Albuquerque..... traffic / drivers are just as bad as Cali ..... Now, going through on a Sunday morning--- shouldn't be too bad....

RNG, that Norton is nice! I had a riding buddy back east in the early 80's that rode a Norton. I don't remember what model, but he was fixing it more than riding. I think he got it as a basket case.

Time to go do.... well... something.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 8:00AM. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. Expect mist and reduced visibilities at times. High 72F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

When I got my first Norton Commando, genuine parts were still available, but junk parts from India were getting pretty common. Five years later I bought a basket case and used many improved aftermarket parts to fix most of the known issues. Making my own wiring harness helped, too. I put 40,000 miles on that bike, including quite a few in England when I flew over with it to attend the Isle of Man TT races. That bike, along with the first one, a yellow fastback, are two that I regret selling. The one Drew took the picture of hasn't run since the day I bought it. Took it to bits, cleaned and polished and painted, put it back together, and parked it in the living room. Most reliable Norton ever!

Replaced a missing nut on the zebra bike yesterday. Used a Nyloc, leaving off the washer so the screw would go all the way through the lock ring. Then cleaned the red grease off a couple of the machine tools using paper towels and parts cleaner solvent. Still have lots to go, some of which I can do with the parts washer. Thinking I should contact Lucas for a refund on the exploded can, I sure don't want a replacement.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Morning all;
Not much going on around here, two wet drizzley days so far.
