Good morning!!!!

Good morning. The hurricane has blessed us with another day of good weather. {it rained all of June, July and August} At 0725 it's sunny, 73F with 93% humidity. Forecast high low of 99/73F with 0% chance of rain today, 10% tonight and tomorrow.

Sister's friend is down from Colorado, and we ate supper with them last night. They had done the 3 day country music festival at Panama City Beach, and were late getting in. So what we carried for food was what we had. Luckily we had got ribs and a Boston Butt from a church fund raiser. Margie made cole slaw and we had some left over Jalapeno poppers {I noticed the few left didn't get packed up when we were gathering our stuff to leave}

I got in a couple three miles of walking after supper, {the little sliver of moon was setting, but I was going uphill, so I had about 30 minutes of moon set}. Stayed at the pond camp. It was windy enough the bugs were not too bad. Slept great. {army cot with sleeping bag, car seat pad and egg crate for comfort}

Prayers sent to Kyle's daughter and everyone else who needs them.

Those poor Bahamians are going to need more than prayers I'm afraid. Storm still only moving at 1 mph. I can't image what they are going through. We only had 130 mhp winds for 90 minutes. They've had it for two days.

Hope everyone has a great day.

geez Larro, what was 130mph like?
my personal best is 113.....

back from veggie runs, now meeting fireman neighbor, he will help me put both my portable gens on the trailer, then off to deliver to neighbors and friends,
have gens will travel, then down to River to collect my riding mower down there, expect two feet of water in basement, Cub Cadet isn't likely to like that.

neighbor is engineer with fire company, has CDL of course, says he is helping local farmer haul corn but combine broke down this morn, JD already out working on it.
lot of running around trying to get any harvestable crops in. Tobacco is full out there, almost ready to be picked, they already hand picked the lower leaves, fields look beautiful, if one thinks of tobacco just as a plant....starting to turn yellow. Six inches of rain will be a real issue, manageable but any more and we have serious flooding.
Thankfully ground is pretty dry so it will suck up first two inches of rain pretty quick but I expect to wake up Friday morning with a lake in front of my house.

Good morning! a cool 70˚F heading to 98˚F.

Eric find your break-over bar, your wrench is next to it.

Randy and BEF keep improving a little each day. Ron hang in there, time for positive thoughts with the support of family. Kyle, praying you daughter will find her place were anxiety won't bother her.

I e-mailed a ford dealership and asked a few questions concerning year-end discounts that got carefully avoided, they have my e-mail and if they respond I will make sure I'm leading the conversation and there avoidance will be pointed out.

RNG sounds like an interesting Labor Day ride.

I did so-so in cards last night I might move up a place or two winning more than I lost. I slid down to 10th place from third after the devastating defeats last week.

I advance to intermediate pilates this afternoon after doing some tractor business in the garden this morning. The beginners mens pilates only lasted a month after that we can keep signing up for the safe place - mens beginner class, where the women don't out preform us, or advance and compete with them. I tried to stay in the safe space but the majority of the class beat me to the sighn-up and the class was full, so I'm being kicked up to the wolves. I have to watch it or they could hurt me bad if I try to be competitive.

Dorian is one boring hurricane, I have never seen one move so slow. Yawn. Larro keep us updated.

It was weird, because none of us ever got scared. Margie, Sister and I were on the front and back porch recording as our stuff blew away. I have video of the pumphouse rolling down the middle of the garden, breaking all my spigots and sprinklers.

The cotton harvest was going on here when Micheal hit. Lots of cotton didn't get harvested. The crop insurance pays 20% less if you don't make an effort to harvest. But the row crop farmers at least had insurance. Not very many timber producers did. I know i didn't.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

A hazy sunny 53ºF to start the day; a mixed sun/clouds 67ºF presently; and I expect today top out in the low 70ºF’s. I anticipate rain and possible T-storms tonight and tomorrow. Once the dew burns off I have a lot of outdoor activities planned. Brogen was off “routine” this AM. There might be a new local resident based on the impressions in the wet grass earlier today.

David- Thanks for sharing the picture of your pack. Kalani and Kekoa look content and well cared for. I am sure your cat loves traveling in the car and going to the vet. Brogen has a special protocol when going to the vet or gulag due to his animal aggressiveness. :(…… There are risks and benefits doing animal rescues. He was a big ? with the St. B rescue.

BEF- It definitely reads like you are improving. I hope your increasing strength and endurance continues, and you maintain a reasonable level of activity with getting all your chores accomplished.

RonJH and Randy- Special + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Kyle- I am sorry to read about your daughter. I truly hope that an effective mix of medications and routines can be found for your daughter. It reads like there is a lot of “energy” within your family. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for your daughter, you, and the rest of your family.

Buppies- I am happy to read that you returned home safe and sound.

Eric- I had to look up “jumpers.” I am assuming the sweater definition rather than the dress unless you have the legs to pull that off.

I hope that everyone has a manageable week.

Lots going on with the TBN family, prayers for those in need. 42F this morning, headed to high 80s, 90s later in week.

SIL and daughter were working on last few trusses and roof sheeting when we stopped by for lunch yesterday (we brought lunch). They expect to be putting underlayment on the roof on Thursday and then metal soon after. SIL has a few weeks off so their plan is to get the roof done and get the house wrap on. Sept will go by fast for them.

In 1960 Hurricane Donna came through South Mills, NC. I was 8 years old, it hit at night, I remember lying in bed listening to the nail heads popping out on the tin roof. I understood exactly what was happening. It was roaring so loudly that I was afraid the whole roof was coming off. After what seemed like forever, it got dead calm, I thought it was over, but a portion of the eye was padding over. In about ten minutes I heard the roar coming back. The backside didn’t seem to last as long. In the morning the metal from the roof was rolled up like cigarette papers and scattered all over the yard. There was water from a feeder ditch about a hundred yards away, all the way up into our front yard. We lost an out building, most of our fruit trees and a very large oak limb, in addition to the roof. I suspect peak winds were 100 or so, with gusts of 120. I can’t imagine 140 mph for 24 hours.

80 and humid, headed to mid 80s today, 90 tomorrow, the storm is pushing the humidity up our way. Looks like wind and rain for us near week’s end.
Prayers for BEF, Ron and all in the storms path.

71°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 93° today. One blast of heat this week, then we're back to milder weather. High Thursday is forecast at 79°.

Lots of errand running Saturday, interspersed with moving furniture around in the basement. Wife's stepbrother finished the trim work around the doors, windows, and floorboards. With that, the house remodel we started in late 2016 is officially done. I still need to finish reorganizing my studio, but everything else is back in place.

Sunday was our anniversary. We had initially talked of going to the winery where we were married, but Wifey's migraine put the kibosh on that. So, we just stayed home and vegged most of the day.

Yesterday, while she was working on modifying the Roman shades she'd made for the original walkout porch windows, I went out and dragged the rotary cutter around the pasture. With that behind me, I decided to get some of the lawn cut. I got the fenced-in back yard area cut, and was mowing along the south fence line when I heard a snap and the mower just stopped moving. Started checking all over it, and found the drive spring had broken at the end that hooks to the deck. I finished the area I was mowing between the house and the barn with the Husqy rider, then pulled the ZTR back to the barn with a tow strap. I'm starting to get a bit jaded over Husqvarna's quality of late. We've had more than a few issues with the newer rider, a couple of broken plastic parts on the AWD walk behind mower, and now this broken spring on a zeroturn that is less than two months old. We've traditionally had very good service from their products, but that doesn't seem to be the case these days.
