Coffee is done brewing. 58° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 78° with cloudy skies. Did some banking in the morning. Then finished roof except for edge trim. Today will work on last of the trim work on chicken coop. Tractor tires did not make it to my place yesterday. FedEx says maybe today.

64 going back to hot and humid...89.

Thomas, sorry that storm was a mess and prevented your date night.

Mostly, cherries in peach cobbler sounds perfect.

Hoping the grass dries early so I can started on mowing and trimming...grass took off during the slow rain Thursday.

good morning all
cloudy day today, but hopefully no rain, needs to be nice for Ken's pool party, which I will attend (with a bag of tomatoes of course)
for a little bit. I don't know most of the folks there, but I did get to chat with his Dad last year.
Ken has it catered with a food truck and they are awesome. I'm sure it's a lot of work for him.
Beautiful spot, back in the woods

You might ask them if they can secure set screw any better, like jam nut or blue locktite.

Mostly, wow you sure hit it on the head, no pun intended. Anything that comes loose can be secured somehow...
These motors don't normally fail, though not quality motors, rather the whole gear and tooth arrangement gets looser and looser as it
wears/vibrates. Born to fail.
I guarantee you I will never own another rv with a Schwintek slide.
And since it only took four years and 30k miles for this slide to fail, I figure it will fail again.
So at some point, seems like a great idea to pay someone the 300 bucks to climb up and locktite that motor mount.
Thankfully I can still use the rv with the slide in.

Seven years ago (I think?) when I was in Jackson MS with my first motorhome, and the exact same slide broke, sure wish I knew what I knew now.
That mechanism had just hit the market and was being touted as the new better solution. My new Winnebago was proud to announce it.
Instead it failed miserably.
Replacement parts were not available. Local dealer did not know how to fix.

Even top quality builders like Grand Design have had their reputations damaged by this bad slide design. But they are totally in bed with Lippert;
Lippert builds the frames for many of the rvs sold today. Industry consolidation brings efficiency and cost cutting, but sure not quality improvement.
Those frames btw are cracking all over the place. Dozens of youtube videos of folks with cracked frames.

Now I know why folks buy an Airstream. Problem is they are double to triple the cost.
And no Airstream has a room slide, never in their history. Maintains body integrity.

That slide mechanism, built by the largest mfr in the industry, Lippert (think Chevrolet), has done for the
rv repair business what ethanol has done for small engine repair.
Created a boondoggle of business.

Some of you with good technical/fix it ability could retire doing service work on these rv's.
There are so many of them out there and likely they will all break.

next time I have rv up at Popgadget's, if he has a big step ladder, maybe we can loctite those motors.
They are very hard to get to, buried in a tight spot. Of course.

hope you all have a great weekend.

good morning, 65 going to 86 today no rain

First cup of coffee this morning. Plan today same as yesterday

Changed to the 095 twisted string yesterday. What a difference in performance from the 080 string.
Really like the Makita trimmer

I went to the 095 twisted as soon as I got the trimmer. And yes, it was a huge improvement in performance. Cuts much better and lasts much longer.

Better situation than my parents lawyer who just got suspended for taking money from an estate that he thought had no heirs. Then one showed up.
The dreaded “Trust Account” issue….

Good Morning
It’s 66 with a high of 80. Foggy this morning, sunny after it burns off.
Should be a good day for Ken’s party.

Yesterday was entirely consumed with traveling. Went pretty well, had a gyro failure enroute to Akron that had to be dealt with. We got to Akron uneventfully, the weather was clear, then made the short hop to Washington, PA where our maintenance is done. They swapped out the gyro, and had lunch ready for us. They got us right out, we made it back to Philly in time to do the Martha’s Vineyard trip as scheduled. Dinner at Mission BBQ afterwards, home in time to do a few chores like install the $56 plastic handle that adjusts the seat height in the Transit Connect replacing the duct tape that covered the metal stub. That was cheapest that I could find, it’s just about a one ounce piece of plastic.

Today wife is off to Farmers Market with the Transit Connect on its maiden voyage. That leaves me home with Zoe, and she has house cleaners scheduled for this morning. Zoe and I will go over to the shop to stay out of their way, hopefully they will be out of here early enough for me to get to Ken’s party. Not much else planned, I’ll work on finishing the P51 converted to electric power, and a bit of paperwork this morning.

65 outside this AM, heading to upper 80's. Like in may hit 90. Cannot see outside this AM. Nice blanket of fog.

095 line in the weed whacker was an OMG moment. Perfect for my fence lines. It was a real difference maker.

Spent a lot of time with the plumber on the Milk House. Looks like I will have to go with a grinder and pump. Waiting on my topography people with the slope info to get back to me, confirming that option. Sad, but necessary. I hope the guy comes in with a reasonable price. He said he would like to do the concrete work too. Well if the price is right, someone else can demo and dig. Not me, is fine.

ZTR came back, Yippie! I had to do a double take on it. Nice, shiny and clean. Ahh.....I usually keep my equipment clean, but dang, not kidding, this was an impressive job. Everything was done to my satisfaction. Exceeded my expectations for sure. Turn around time was faster than anticipated. My original Kubota dealer for the ZTR went out of business, so I returned to this business, which was my first dealer for my earlier Kubota's a long time ago....

Grass is the agenda for the next few days...needless to say.

Hope all have a great start to the weekend. Be safe.

Suns up, burning off the fog, wow, what a difference a few moments in time make.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

63.4F going to mid 80s, clear day forecasted.

Show last night was excellent!
IMG_0410.jpeg
Brass is front and center, as it should be.

Harry had a good day at Playhouse, he came home and conked out. A tired puppy is a GOOD puppy!

Stopped at Kubota dealer and picked up a set of filters, everything except hydraulic tank breather element (out of stock). $196. I know I don‘t need them for a while yet, but it is nice to have them on the shelf if the cargo ships start backing up again, or at least before prices go up more. Best economy ever…

kubota parts guy came from a family that owned a grading company, had a good discussion. He operated a dozer primarily. Discussed a bunch of practical operating topics, and Mrs now has a better understanding of why I want to get the next-door neighbor’s 310g dozer running and borrow it.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

plan today is to head up to woodlot and detail clear the area where the dog enclosure will go, and maybe even get it assembled.

Morning all, 74 going up to 85 and sunny.
Spent the day moving stuff around and driving the kid places.
Finally picked him up a few towns over and got back around 10pm

Off to move more furniture, will try to get a setup pic of the yard later.
No rain last night, so could have done more yesterday.

Be well,

I was just this morning remarking to myself the longevity of my recliner. It's a La-z-Boy from about 1990 (lifetime warranty). About a year or two after I bought it the base broke. One I returned it, they fixed it, been going good ever since. I wonder if their quality has declined like most everything else.
Been thinking of getting SWMBO one of those "self ejecting" recliners.
Can you tune them for more power?
