Good afternoon. It's a pleasant 85F here at 2:30PM. Sunny. High 96F. Winds light and variable.
I was able to get granite backsplashes that matched the counters here, James. Cost seemed reasonable, and they would look good with butcher block. The new house has ugly brick backsplashes, and after the dust settles, I'll probably replace them with stone of some sort.
The appraisal came in $10K below the asking price of the house, so we added that to the cost of repairs and asked for a price reduction by that amount. Seller got the repair report last night, their agent promised a quick answer, and so far nothing but crickets. All along they've wanted a quick close, and have drug their feet the whole way.
They still haven't come back with the True Up numbers for the solar power system, so I called PG&E and a really nice lady helped me find how to access them for my place. I'd have never found them on my own! Wrote up the instructions and asked my agent to forward them to the seller. Not the first time I've had to educate them about something I needed to know about the house.
Did get a better quote on insurance from The Hardford, even better if I bundle the vehicles.
Headed into town for groceries, will try to find something to BBQ for dinner tonight. Not much else planned for the day.
TGIF gang!
