Those holes are sure precise looking!

They look good ... from a distance ... ;)

Can’t wait to see the fruit of your endeavor.

We're hopeful that it will turn out well and we'll get a bountiful harvest ... assuming we can keep the pests out of them.

Once upon a time we had 200 strawberry plants growing here, 100 June-bearing and 100 ever-bearing.

Put a lot strawberries into the freezer ... and ate a lot of strawberries and Mom's shortcake ... ;)

Good morning! Low of 60°, heading up to 95°. No rain. It is now 75 days since our last precip. Still only#17 for the longest dry streak record......

Got to drip irrigation rotation cycle completed yesterday. Everything is growing well, actually better than we thought with all this heat and dryness. But, that comes at a cost.... got the water bill in yesterday....$229 for 24,000 gallons. Don't really have a choice at this point.

I did get out of Costco under $175.... not including the $35 for gas. Costco was $3.49 / gal, elsewhere was $3.89.

Today's agenda is to go to WallyWorld for a few items, then dig out a dead pinion tree. Wifey is very disappointed that it died. This was a transplant earlier this late spring from a 'local' guy that digs them up in the mountains. It got hit with gypsy moth caterpillars, and at the same time, the temps jumped up into the high 90's... just too much stress on the tree.

I am disappointed with Home Depot..... the drip irrigation supplies are not arriving as stated they should. One item is still "in process" and didn't even ship yet. I called the customer service and explained what was happening.....
after being put on hold 15 minutes while the rep 'looked into it', they just transferred me to the manufacturer!
Really? I bought the item from HD... not Rain Bird.

The worst part about this is each of the individual items are being shipped from all over the country! Tubing from Baltimore, elbow fittings from Seattle, drippers from L.A.
How can they pay for shipping for 4 different items, when the items themselves are less than $10 each? Plus the cost of the box and packaging materials!
I thought I was going to save myself a trip into town, all I managed to do was get frustrated.....
I guess everything will eventually get here....

Drew, glad the RV slide repair was an easy fix. Can there be a "permanent" fix?

66°F and .02 inches rain.

Off to breakfast with Sophie in Hilo town, then some shopping and errands. Need to make a PO stop.

Should be back in time to start outside the fence mowing, unless I get distracted.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Here you go,
D-Air® For Racing - Airbag System for Racers

Good Morning!!!! Another morning at a frigid 60F! Abundant sunshine. High 91F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Whoever owned my previous house spread hardware cloth along the fence line, then coated it with mortar, then a layer of dirt. When landscapers came along to redo the yard later, they had a heck of a time getting the stuff picked up and removed. Something like that would probably stop whatever's trying to get under the fence, too, Ted.

Pretty sure Bell moved to Europe several years ago to get away from US regulations and ambulance chasing lawyers. And I think they even stopped making motorcycle helmets. Sad story for the company that practically invented them.

A dose of DeOxIt might revive that cranky switch, David...

Usta be able to say I'd been hurt far worse in bicycle crashes than on a motorcycle, but then a guy went left of center on his Suzuki and hit me head on. Broke my wrist and leg, he didn't make it out of the hospital. Still riding motorcycles on the street, but haven't been on a bicycle in many years. Maybe change that at the new place, but it'll probably be a mountain bike and off road.

Appraiser said yesterday he'll deliver his report today. I found a home a bit smaller than the one in escrow yesterday, that has a 700 sq. ft. garage in a backyard big enough to enlarge the garage a good bit. The inside has been upgraded to like new. 100K less than the one in escrow. I told the real estate agent I wanted a zoom tour, but he said he's out of town until Tuesday. WTF?!? The last realtor got let go for pulling the same stunt. If the appraisal comes out low enough, I'll cancel it and go after this new place, with a different realtor.

While we're covering bad news, I found a crack in the new van's windshield a few days ago, so got a quote off the SafeLite website. $250 if it could be repaired, $2500 if it has to be replaced. Tried to get someone there to look at a photo of the crack, but they couldn't be bothered. A buddy recommended a local glass company, and I've heard through their radio ads that they have the equipment to recalibrate all the cameras and sensors that are glued to the windshield. Gave them a call and they can do it for half of SafeLite's price. I'll still be out $1K, my insurance policy's deductible. RAM dealer says 6 weeks out on a new windshield, and there are none on the aftermarket yet. Hope that crack doesn't run. Gotta make a grocery run today, so I'll swing by the glass shop with the van to make sure the windshield really needs replaced.

I did get some good news. Farmer's is still writing policies in California, and they'll insure the escrow house for $1200/year. And I got two other quotes in the $2K range. So made some headway there.

Started the day by refilling five picnic bottles full of propane. On one the valve leaked, to it's on the BBQ and will go back to Home Depot for an exchange when it's empty.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
Is the windshield crack from a rock chip? Or did the heat get it? Possible warranty? Has it occurred on others?

Hope you get the house situation figured out.

My friend is selling his parents' home here in Texas. Very very nice, plenty of storage out buildings, barns, 10 acres. I think 1.1+ million. He may have gotten a contract on it just last week.

frustrating morning at Ciocca Ford.
Got there five minutes early for 9am appt.
Waited ten minutes, asked where he was.
Oh, he is in the building, I'll call him.
ok.
five minutes later, nothing
we had you down for 11am. Let me call again.
I waited five more minutes and then walked out.
no thank you.
pretty stupid of them not to send someone out when they knew I was sitting there
I prefer to NOT have a salesperson, until I've done all my homework and research. Most salesmen can't answer the types of questions I would have. The kinds of things you have to crawl under a vehicle or dig under the hood to determine.

Still blasting hot like a blacksmith's furnace. I am trickling water on my 2 pecan trees, need to do 1 oak tree. I'm afraid to shred the back weeds 10 acres, due to chance of grass fire. On the other hand I wish it was down and baled to take the fire material away. I might mow it with my Steiner beast, that shoots the cuttings out to the right, to kind of direct it away from the home.

Ranchers are taking cows to the auction barns, hay is scarce and expensive.

Prayers for our team, for rain down here, our country, and for peace in Ukraine.

Went up to the market to get a few things and passed this driveway a little up the road from us. He must like the old gas station signs a lot.

West KY is wet and cool. The rain is off and on currently so drainage is keeping up it seems. 77F at noon. Last weekend in the heat we got 70% of winter hay in the dry and scheduled to get the rest in September.

afternoon more successful than morning.
picked up rv, it ran fine on the way home, all parked back in its spot.
I had to laugh, the backup camera went out just when I wanted to back up.
I gave the screen a wack and it came back on. Clearly something loose.

Ted, they checked both motors, one was very loose, tightened everything, as far as I'm concerned about every three or four years
they will likely come loose again.
The only permanent fix is to rip out Schintek mechanism and replace with Zoom mechanism.
Or I suppose spend 300 bucks like I did and have the whole thing gone over periodically.

hope to have a quiet night in.
