The problem with the grease method is that it just oozes out of the oil passage.... can't build any pressure.
This is what was successful for me before for small bearings with little space under them

OK, here's a pic of the bearing/ case.

Turns out, I have a blind hole puller set like the one in the link I posted earlier:

Doesn't seem like it would need much of a gap behind the bearing to get a pretty good grip. It also uses a slide hammer, so no need for anything pushing in the center:

That kind of puller can also be used with an external frame like this one:

Those legs are arranged to push against the boss that surrounds the bearing. Doesn't seem like HF has knocked off this design yet.

Also, heat that case up to spit sizzle temperature and the bearing may just fall out of the bore.

I've also had very good luck with the welding trick. I usually use Gas Tungsten Arc, but if I'm in a hurry I'll use Gas Metal Arc, too. But have to be extra careful not to get weld on the boss, as that makes extraction even more difficult.

Drew, the base map is a few years old. A pic from when we had sweet potato farmers. Farmers all gone now, just their unsmoothed furrows left. ☹️. I just try to keep the grass down, letting the soil regenerate a bit. The map itself is an overlay of the USGS topo map over the pic to show the contour lines. Guess if more ambitious I’d redo with later pic, maybe someday. i did the mowing map as an aid for when I get a caretaker to help Sophie.

Didn't get much done...I had been concerned about mowing with the ZTR and my sore side...only had a small area to finish, but it was bit too much... probably overdid it yesterday...
The doc said the bruising was going to take 5-6 weeks...she was right, I think.
So, that was it for the physical labor.... got back on my company for a few hours

good one Thomas and we aren't peddling...

I'm amazed and a little in awe of the physical condition of some of you. Wngsprd hiking over the mountains, Mostly bicycling more miles than most of us drive,
Rich still whizzing around motocross tracks, keep it up.

Not sure if I should be encouraged or discouraged. But good on them 🤙🤙🤙🤙

My miserly 6 minutes on the Treadclimber and 6 miles on recumbent bike and I’m done. Interesting observation on the recumbent bike. For a long time I was content to just coast along at the original resistance setting. Then I decided to start increasing the resistance levels. Strangely my ride times decreased. Decided to increase from 5 to 6 miles, adjusting resistance every .5 miles, hitting the 25 max about 3 miles. Only added about 30 seconds to my ride time, usually 17:30 or less.

Wngsprd, Thanks. First inclination was to just label map A, B, C etc, but at that point I was already referencing those areas in that manner so Sophie knew where I was.

Mike, do be careful out there!!!

My basic philosophy is not to mow exactly the same pattern twice in a row. But I have also learned there are a few placed with no viable options.
Hope you feel better soon.

Kind like tug of war between mind and body....mind saying I think I can I think I can and body saying don't try it ;) but one doesn't if one doesn't try.
