Ron, nice pick of the cranes.... almost thought they were fake... both posing the same way! :) My son used his Go-Pro.
Thanks for video report.
I have been thinking of getting a DJI Pocket 2. For that type of video.
I took 8 pictures of the cranes. Only one came out the way I wanted.

Interesting you should mention that ... I was just thinking the other day that a pair of those folding plastic saw horses would be handy.

I have two pair of the plastic saw horses from Harbor Freight. They've held up remarkably well, considering I've had some things on them that were probably too heavy for plastic.

I have been thinking of getting a DJI Pocket 2.

I have, too, but for the GoPro mounted on the motorcycle handlebars. Still too much vibration, even with the vibration isolation platform in place. I just wonder if the Pocket 2 would be the solution though.

I was hoping LS was going to say that was what son used.

My country is the strictest in the state when it comes to systems. In the STATE.

Could not find proper contours today. We cannot move dirt to level an area.

Is that whacked out or what?

Sounds similar to here.

Any area where the surface has been disturbed (aka "excavated" ... :confused2:) is immediately disqualified from consideration.

Not sure exactly what the thinking is behind that, but I suspect it has something to do with whether or not the subsoil, undisturbed, would naturally perc on it's own ... :confused3:

Hope you are able to get it all worked out.

Good to know ... will take a look ...

Was just looking at the RIGID's from Home Depot ... would love to have them for the adjustable height ... but at $40 a pop per saw horse, they're a little rich for my blood at this point ... :(

MG,

Sincere condolences on the passing of your friend ... :(

RS sounds like the remodel is about to really get going.

Yeah ... hopefully finally coming to the end of a long runway ... :confused2:

She hasn't figured out you are "maintenance" yet?

LOL ... judging from all the various requests on a continuing basis, I'd say she figured that out long ago.

Getting her to actually admit it would be another matter altogether ...

yeah but, but...do the Rigid one's have clamps built in or some really useful feature? Saw horses last a long time and
get used pretty often. Now just how much wiggling and wobbling do you want?...:D

when I said before how grey and cold out it was, should have finished my thought.
Looks like snow...
yup, coming down pretty good and a small amount sticking and looking pretty.
Car is in garage, trash cans in, all is right with the world.

RS, todays picture is for you.

Thanks.

The strap supplied with feeder will not last long. I added pins to lid to keep it on. Deer would take it off.

Great idea ...

Note: see hole in upper left corner from deer trying to get lid off.

Noted ... ;)

We had considerable damage here from raccoons to a couple of plastic cans a few years back when I got the bright idea - which turned out to be not so bright BTW - to store bird seed outside, due to some kind of moths laying eggs in it. Turned into a wormy mess.

Surprised at the amount of destruction the coons created.

Hopefully we'll have an early spring and you can pull a few of those vases out of storage and fill them with fresh-cut flowers.

That is what I was told about digging pre perk, it wouldn’t be considered until such time as it returned to its natural state. Whatever that is.
On the land I just got an early buyout on was perked right before I bought it and was told it needed a mound. Perk is good for five years. So I went to another area and took the clay off the top and back filled with a sand and topsoil mix. When it was perked for the new owners 7 years later the first area still needed a mound, so I had them come over 300’ to my “prescription” soil and it perked just fine. After thinking about it I told the buyer more or less what I did in case he had trouble with the drain field, which I didn’t think about until later. He ended up just doing the mound. But I had fun digging and filling and planting grass.

That may have had something to do with the answer I got from the local Health Department ... the point where I was talking to them was fairly shortly after the gas company had installed the well and the area bordered the road they put into to access the site.

Also, IIRC, there was a transition to a different soil type on the parcel.

Weird weather for Winter. We're having mornings just below freezing, then afternoons in the 70s. All summer, I mowed my yard one notch higher than the neighbors on either side of us, and we did have a thick, spongy yard. So yesterday, I decided to mow it for the last time of the year. Of course I hadn't mowed in more than a month, and I lowered the mower one notch. And I was a little disappointed in my EGO battery powered mower in those conditions. I had to keep changing batteries and keeping 2 of three on the chargers all the time. The mower, and I, struggled a bit. But I did finally get it all mowed, edged, and trimmed, and filled 4 of the big contractor bags as full as I could stuff them. When I finished, I came in the house and went straight for the shower because I knew if I stopped or slowed down, I'd never be able to start again. Sometimes I think my wife is right when she says I'm gettin' too old for this. I went to bed hurtin' all over, but pretty well recovered except for still being tired today.

I’m sure a man of your varied talents could craft an appropriate solution, perhaps using EMT. Remember it is the saw that’s important. Initially, any support can be sufficient and eventually replaced.

LO I have a Pug that insists on lying on me just like that but I can only take it for so long as he weighs 10 kg and at 72 I am finding it just a bit much now.

Bird, you are lucky to have grass to mow really. The drought here has devastated our lawn so we finish up with dirt and dust. Of the acre + around the house I mow a tiny portion now and again. Yesterday I mowed about 150 Sq meters just to knock the purple weed down. I used to mow the entire lawn regularly years ago but haven't had to do that now for around 5 or more years at least. Just a touch up now and again. Should I be grateful? I do love a nice lawn but it is only memories now. This heat is hard on nature and man. A good lawn keeps the heat down around the house.

My neighbors system was closer to $20K here, they seem to see $$ signs when work needs to be done in my area. Too bad my neighbor and I are in the tiny houses, can't afford the monstrosities across the street.

Honestly, I was shocked at how low the price came in. We had budgeted about 8K, hoping not to hit 10K. You're in Bucks, right? That would explain a lot.
