Good morning!!!!

Good Morning. It’s 30 degrees out now, I don’t think that we will see 40, but might see some snow showers.

Yesterday’s trip to Newport News was uneventful, was done by noon. Trimmed and rubbed pork shoulders, turned out that my wife only got two of them, so it’s more like 17 pounds.

Fired up the smoker about 6:30 last evening, 12 hours later it’s at 240 degrees, the meat is at 170, with a target of 200. Good news is that it burns all night on one load of charcoal. It’s got triple wall construction and insulation, so the 30 degree temp isn’t an issue.
Hopefully it will be ready to pull by lunchtime, I’ve got to head off to the airport at 1:30 for a quick trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

It looks like the rest of the month is wide open to stay at home and putter around.

Bread looks delicious. A friends FIL baked bread every day, whether they needed it or not. When asked why he always made bread, he replied that kneading the dough was the best way to clean his hands after gardening.

nothing like a little extra natural iron in one's diet...

this is plenty cold for me. My fake electric wood stove in the living room helps but
just doesn't create that intense warmth where the closer you get, you get a lot warmer. And then too warm.
There's no too warm going on here unfortunately.
You don't get to too warm probably due to safety engineering, fire codes, electrical codes, which don't apply to open flame
devices like fireplaces and wood stoves that can be closed. Wood stove that will sure give you a burn
if you aren't careful. That kind of marvelous too warm. Bake your bones too warm.

My little electric fake flame heater, which ok looks amazingly realistic in its fakery,
isn't going to burn me or bake my bones either. Though I don't think it would attract a dog
to get near... Good stoves should attract the warm blooded animals, cats and dogs and?
And since once upon a time we seemed to have all lived in caves of some sort,
or perhaps a rude hut, we will always appreciate a warm fire.

Coffee is brewing. 32° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 45° with some sun in afternoon. While I as at it decided to collet all the other empty vases in the house. They are over 50 now store in cellar. My wife kept them full of flowers or other decoration year around.
Sandhill Cranes feeding at what was my deer feeder. Now it's for the squirrels and what cranes find leftover.

LS, great video. What did your son use to take video?

Mostly, sorry for the loss of your friend.

Eric, bread looks good. We had a bread make for years. I need to see if it is still here. I liked the smell of fresh baked bread.

Drew, I would take saw to store. If they could not figure out how to stop shipment. They probably cannot figure out how to refund your money.

RNG, any pictures of your oil pan project?

PopG, meat looks good.

RS, todays picture is for you. The strap supplied with feeder will not last long. I added pins to lid to keep it on. Deer would take it off. Note: see hole in upper left corner from deer trying to get lid off.

Riptides, sorry to hear about septic system.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, the temperature is 31°F and going up to 34. Wind W 8 mph. 30% chance of flurries. None yet.

Not too much planned for today, I may dump the oil in the tractor, but don't hold your breath.

Nice crane pics. Is the one on the left a female?

Have a safe day all

fly safely Popgadget, wave to the Kennedy's.

hope to see you on Friday briefly as I'm passing through on 113 headed over to Lederach.
An area I always have thought of as Mennonite country.
Closest into Philadelphia you had more Quakers, further out the
Mennonites, and then the Amish of course. The three religions all joined at the hips in a common belief in pacifism.
And often farm based though the Quakers were known for good business knowledge.

Mennonites and Amish all have deep roots in Germany, Europe, England, definitely old school thinking.
It reminds me of driving in Europe when I drive over by Perkasie, the place is so well kept yet the rural farmland comes through.
Folks don't seem to litter there, and if they do, they must have been city folk...
Or young. And we were all young. And did stupid things.

I wonder if it would be helpful for all high school kids to pick trash up on a roadway just once.
Maybe it would raise some awareness. And boys and gents, your Red Man tins belong in your trash, not chucked out
on my lawn... My lawn is not your ash tray. Pack it in, pack it out.

Going to head out to Harbor Freight in Flemington where I bought the first mitre saw and now will return
the duplicate since I know their staff will come get it from back of my car. Not sure guy at UPS store will do that...

This time I think I'll go the four lane route instead of the two. Will get better mpg on flatter less windy road and both roads run
through the country and farmland. 202 to Flemington was one of the earliest radar traps in the area. Troopers had little hideaways cut into the
landscape but after awhile everyone knew where they were. And if you got caught with a trooper on your tail, then you most likely deserved the ticket
for lack of attention. Of course those unmarked cars are getting very tricky looking, today if it's not a Charger, Tahoe or an Explorer out there, the
LEO can be driving a wide variety of previously impounded cars. It's why I try to use cruise control all the time, set at 7 over, and adjusted to reality.
Very easy to go too fast at just the wrong time.
