Good morning all, 32 going up to 39 and grey
Just did errands around the house yesterday, nothing special

Eric - bread looks exactly like you do this all the time, kudos
Drew - don;t hurt yourself - I am only 10 min away for a quick move if needed.
Ron - cranes look very happy
RNG - glad to hear the fire is contained

Had my kid do road clean up with the scouts, good lesson for anyone.

Stay safe and be well

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 63° today.

Bread looks tasty, Eric.

Condolences on the loss of your friend, Mostly_.

That Christmas display letter made the local news here, too. I can't imagine what it must be like living in a home with such a person.

Yea, I immediately thought of Ted as I read that earlier.

We have experienced the complete opposite..... it inspired others in the neighborhood to put up some lights, and in some cases, a lot more than they previously did. Driving locally, there are more displays put up than in previous years.

I did something different this year, consolidating the same amount of lights into a smaller area..... in the past they were spread out more across the shrubs, trees, fencing. We didn't have the porch last year, so that's where the concentration occurred. I am not sure if I like it yet.....

Mostly, sorry to hear about loosing your friend.

All this talk about expensive septic systems.... that is one thing good about out here.... $100 buys you a permit and 3 inspections. No requirement to have a contractor install (most are done by contractors). They assess the area based on the US soil survey, and may require a perk test if suspected poor drainage. I have only seen one sand mound in the surrounding area.

RS, I have been really impressed by the Rigid tools. At a price that close, the Rigid would be a winner for sure! Just the aspect of the warranty and parts availability would put them ahead.

Eric, I thought I smelled fresh bread baking.... There is a General Mills cereal plant about 60 miles away (as the crow flies) on the other side of the mountain.... on a few occasions, depending on the wind, we have had "smells" lofting over... always a fun game to play.... "golden grahams" or "corn flakes" or..... ? ..... doesn't matter... smells good!

Ron, nice pick of the cranes.... almost thought they were fake... both posing the same way! :) My son used his Go-Pro. He said it is really bad at taking night video. Same with my Ipad, it couldn't focus in on the lights. The lights really look a lot better in person. The video has too much bleed of one color to the other. For example, our porch posts are "candy cane" red and white spiral, easily seen in person, but blended together in the video. I was really surprised that the Go-Pro did so poorly... the video quality during the day is phenomenal.

Drew, sorry that you have to deal with returning the saw, and then dealing with a duplicate order.... I am still waiting on a "shipping" notification from HF on the sharpener order. It's only been 5 days since the order (2 of which were the weekend), this time of year, expected delays for sure!

RNG, yes, the last year has been a whirlwind for sure, always something cropping up!..... I have seriously learned what to do and not do as the knee is concerned.... good days/ bad days. Shop time gets limited for sure, other tasks as well. Waiting in lines yesterday took its toll, bad range of motion and more pain today. Relief is on the horizon.... surgery is still scheduled for February.... pending any Covid changes / restrictions.... fingers crossed....

Everyone have a great day!

That's why there is a Scrooge in every Christmas story...unhappy people don't like it when you are happy I guess.

too cold in garage today, going to wait until it warms up later this week.

But finally the shoemaker's son has shoes, put up a feeder and a bird house today myself.

grey and cold out

Morning all!
27 here with light snow falling. Been puttering around with getting lots of small jobs done around the house. Nothing else going on. Pellet stove is warm and keeping me busy. I'm ok with that.
Should be a white Christmas around here. No warm ups in the future that I can see.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

67°F and .01 inches rain

2 important deliveries today

UPS supposed to deliver water valve for washing machine. Hard to believe it took so long.

Lowe’s delivering the stove and refrigerator for caretaker unit. Not that I’m ready for the, but at least I’ll have them when I am.

Work on locating plumbing lines and making list of what is needed when I go to town Fri.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

36F and cloudy @ 11:30, headed up to a high of 44F. Rain showers predicted for this morning, with some sunshine later this afternoon.

Two deer, half a dozen crows, and probably a dozen or squirrels rooting around the feeders and woods on the west side this morning. Deer feeder emptied again already, I only put 1 - 2 gallons of corn in it yesterday. Will probably wait a few days before I bother to refill it - no sense getting carried away ... weather is not all that bad and there's still plenty of browse out there ... but they now know where to look ... not that they would have trouble finding it ...

On the agenda for the day:

Kitchen clean up.

Put special juice in old toilet bowl and see if that will knock down the water stains.

Still waiting on notification from The Depot that latest order is ready for pick up. Might go get that if later, assuming that they send it. Everything except for one item, is coming from the closest store ... the other one is ready now.

Take MAPP gas torch down into basement and see if I can free up the valves for the water supply to the master bedroom and basement bathrooms, and outside faucet out back so I can get them shut off.

Do a little more price-checking on shower/sink valves and hopefully place order.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

For those into aviation:
Super Guppy: The original supertransporter airplane | CNN Travel
I used to work at Wright Pat and would spend my down time in their amazing aviation museum.:airplane:
They have a Guppy, B52, Valkyrie and some of the X planes.

Looks like some more rain here, no snow for now. Guess I should have procrastinated getting the plow ready?

FWIW, RS. I parked the HF tile saw over a pair of Black'n'Decker plastic saw horses and some 2x4s, and it worked out great. Unlike a dedicated saw stand, the 'horses have been used for many other things since...

Interesting you should mention that ... I was just thinking the other day that a pair of those folding plastic saw horses would be handy.

I have two sets of metal ones that are both over in the barn set up as tables, and another set I made out of wood using plastic brackets from Ace Hardware sitting out back under the deck. Wouldn't want to use the metal or wood ones, considering the water involved.

I'll put them on the list to research ...
