46° after a low of 31°, I hope that’s the last freeze this spring. Hoping to get some clam shells next week to pretty up my driveway, it’s been eight years since it was originally done, and normal use along with snow removal has depleted and packed it to the point that I can’t get a good crown or make it look like I want.
My grandson is here today so I will be busy but not getting much done, but it’s all good, there are other days, and if not, it won’t matter.
Gotta visit with cardiologist tomorrow to check on my Afib, got through yesterday with no incidents, I’ve cut out caffeine, I’m not too stressed, so I guess we will see what the doc says.

Good morning! 70˚F heading to the 80s rain forecasted and overcast now.
Corvid-19 is still on a very slow steady upward creep we now have 158 cases in the county and 27 in our town. Only 33 ever required hospitalization and 101 have recovered. 5 deaths. Basically a mild flu season.
I do believe the state will start to open up at the beginning of May.

Our Garden opens up (for more than watering and picking) tomorrow, with staggered 3 hour windows, odd or even numbered beds so no one is close to each other. I will take out the winter greens and plant potatoes ( 2 months late). The ladybugs were eating the aphids and there will be one more picking of kale, before it gets pulled.

Nice edging Eric, reminds me of the cement forms I made for the paver driveway's edging.

While you're waiting, Ron, check out a couple of folks that have YouTube channels for some videos to familiarize you with operating the Mini. I found "Captain Drone"'s reviews on the mini helpful, but "Ian in London" has some great tips on actually flying them.

I think there are a lot of folks that have gotten used to working at home that are going to be very unhappy going back to work. I always enjoyed telecommuting, but just hated flying around the country for the job, and being in the office wasn't much fun, either. I guess that's why they call it work!:laughing:

Good luck with the scorpions, Kyle. Biggest thing I've done here to keep the bugs at bay is to caulk, caulk, caulk. Around all the doors and windows, and especially where the walls meet the foundation. Yet that Jerusalem Cricket somehow managed to find its way in...:confused2:

Finished phase 1 of the radio install in the van yesterday, having put off adding the amps for the main channels and the subwoofer. But the wire and fuse blocks are on order.

I notice now that free 2 day Prime shipping at Amazon is a thing of the past. It's still free, but delivery times are out two weeks, with wide ranges in variability. Not sure if that's because Amazon doesn't have enough people working the warehouses filling orders, if it's not enough capacity through the USPS or UPS etc. or they're having trouble getting merchandise.

I'm headed north to little Medford, Oregon this morning to visit an outfit that sells used construction equipment accessories. I'm hoping to come home with a skid steer adapter I can use as a basis for converting the cement mixer to work on the front of the tractor. I also just want to get out of the house and put a few more break in miles on the van. I need supplies anyway, this is just a bit longer trip than usual to get them.:laughing: I'll also swing by the Kubota dealer up there and pick up some SUDT fluid. Oregon has no sales tax, and that alone might be enough savings to pay for the gas.

39°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 71° today. Some rain moving in this evening, and it's predicted to stick around for the next three days.

Wife sent me a text message yesterday asking if I'd pick up dinner on the way home from work. When I asked what she wanted, she replied "tacos and a burrito." I took this as yet another confirmation that I married the right woman. :licking:

The new firmware update for the Helix guitar processor was released yesterday, so I downloaded that last night. I'd read in a few places yesterday that some were having issues with it. I did not ... other than my dial-up-slow satellite internet taking 20 minutes to download the new version of the HX Editor app. Frustratingly slow during normal times, here lately it's been nearly at a crawl. Once everything was downloaded, though, the update went without incident. Now, there's even more stuff to play with, including new digital meters for inputs, outputs, and gain reduction, and a model of an old Ashly CLX-52 compressor that was integral to the old Billy Sheehan-esque bass sound I use. Looking forward to playing with that.

Eric, getting to play with the welder and making the wife happy at the same time ... that's a good day.

Glad we don't have to deal with scorpions around here.

Good morning all. Another day of slapping on the sunscreen. My wife got me to try a different UV blocker yesterday that the grand kids have been using. It dries within seconds to leave non-sticky skin, much better than the usual stuff, especially with so much dust around.

The steel for the lawn edging went in quicker than those I put in last year. Like most things, the more you do, the better you get at discovering what doesn't work. As before, I made a simple slotted guide at the end of each piece to allow some vertical angular movement, then welded each length together in situ. I need to bring in more soil today to finish off. That wouldn't take long with tractor and bucket, however my wife wants me to sieve it first to get rid of any couch grass roots and stones, then move it with a wheelbarrow - should keep me out of trouble for quite a while.

RNG, I don't use AWG often so had to look up what 6 gauge equates to in mm. Wow, you weren't kidding about welding cable !

I am a little late posting this morning... I went out first thing and spread the remaining bags of mulch! I mis-spoke about being officially finished.... I forgot that the wood border around the area was to be a double layer... there are a few still laying there and a pile in the background. They will get done today. Enjoyed catching up with the GM thread this morning, folks are staying busy during the shutdown.. there is light at the end of the tunnel now with some states planning on opening back up... lots of politics that should not be in a health discussion, but it is what it is.. I read about how the ventilators being made now will be used to build up state and federal stockpiles and even send some to Mexico to help them out. Glad to hear that.

Yesterday when I was headed out to take garbage can down to highway, grand daughter wanted to come along.. sure, no problem.. after I unloaded the can and got back in truck, she asked if we could go for a drive.. perhaps later I said. An hour before dinner, she asked if it was later yet so we could go for drive... and get a milkshake . We went to local fast food, got our milkshakes and the empty garbage can.. when I asked her if she was going to share her chocolate shake with Nana, she thought Nana would like it if we picked up a coffee instead.. we didn't get any coffee, and she did share her shake with Nana.. she was worried that her classmates would not know that she turned 6yrs old. How would they find out?

I lost a day maybe 2 here. :embarrassed: I had an attitude adjustment day, and his last weather system got a lot of my attention. In a way this complex system "underperformed."

Mixed sun and clouds and 26ºF for today's low temperature and a dusting of graupel was on the ground. The winds 20mph gusting to almost 40mph are making the temps seem a lot colder. Intermittent sun and clouds with snow bursts flying around all morning. Temp = 31ºF presently. I fired up the wood stove this AM; the first time in over a month. A decent morning for a grocery/pharmacy run down to the "Big City". I got everything on the list but flour. +$370(USD) spent plus another $50 for bird food.

This was my/our first supermarket run in +4 weeks. BigY Supermarkets® now has # limits for customers; I think it is 40% occupancy. There was no line. There were cart sanitizing stations at the entrance. I used my own disinfecting wipe on a cart some jerk left in the parking lot. 100% of the store employees had masks and gloves. I saw one head case customer who was not wearing a face mask, but everyone else was. Everyone showed good space distancing and most customers followed the aisle direction arrows. I was able to purchase everything, but flour. Bleach and H2O2 were available. ?I did not check the paper aisle. There was the normal amount of fresh produce stocked, meat and dairy shelves were pretty well stocked. Actually things went pretty smoothly.
