Good Morning! 35F @ 7:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 46F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Mostly, that's a real featherweight, especially considering it's got panniers and fenders. Very similar to a bike I rode in college as a commuter, a truly all weather machine, including snow. It was either that or walk; there just wasn't any place to park a car if I tried to drive.
Got a dog you could tie up in the barn for a few days, Farmer? The cat might decide to move on to friendlier digs...
Swung by Home Depot yesterday to pick up some of the Tanglefoot Ron recommended. Went all through the pest control section and closest thing they had was bird spikes, which I was worried would interfere with satellite reception. On the way to the service desk to ask for help I came across a twenty dollar bill lying on the floor. Picked it up and went on to the desk intending to put the bill in their lost'n'found. Gal there says to keep it, or I can leave it and keep shopping and check back when I'm done. That doesn't seem right, so she asks her manager what to do. This gal takes my name and phone number and writes it on a piece of paper, then staples the bill to it. Says they'll call me in 30 or 60 or some number of days she can't remember if nobody's claimed it. I said fine and asked for a receipt. She says they don't give receipts, and says maybe I should just keep it. I ask to speak with a manager, that's when I find out she IS the manager. Man, they sure make it hard to do the right thing. How much you wanna bet when I go back nobody remembers the bill or what happened to it?:confused2:
Anyway, they don't stock the tanglefoot, so I'll get some on order with Amazon today. Double sheesh!
Winco did have a nice fresh ribeye begging to go home with me, and since it wasn't raining for a change, I let it. Could only finish half of it, but it sure was tasty with a fresh salad and baked potato...
Weather guesser is predicting 70s by the end of next week, and little to no rain until now. The folks at the dam will be happy for the help...
