Good morning!!!!

Good Morning! 35F @ 7:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 46F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Mostly, that's a real featherweight, especially considering it's got panniers and fenders. Very similar to a bike I rode in college as a commuter, a truly all weather machine, including snow. It was either that or walk; there just wasn't any place to park a car if I tried to drive.

Got a dog you could tie up in the barn for a few days, Farmer? The cat might decide to move on to friendlier digs...

Swung by Home Depot yesterday to pick up some of the Tanglefoot Ron recommended. Went all through the pest control section and closest thing they had was bird spikes, which I was worried would interfere with satellite reception. On the way to the service desk to ask for help I came across a twenty dollar bill lying on the floor. Picked it up and went on to the desk intending to put the bill in their lost'n'found. Gal there says to keep it, or I can leave it and keep shopping and check back when I'm done. That doesn't seem right, so she asks her manager what to do. This gal takes my name and phone number and writes it on a piece of paper, then staples the bill to it. Says they'll call me in 30 or 60 or some number of days she can't remember if nobody's claimed it. I said fine and asked for a receipt. She says they don't give receipts, and says maybe I should just keep it. I ask to speak with a manager, that's when I find out she IS the manager. Man, they sure make it hard to do the right thing. How much you wanna bet when I go back nobody remembers the bill or what happened to it?:confused2:

Anyway, they don't stock the tanglefoot, so I'll get some on order with Amazon today. Double sheesh!

Winco did have a nice fresh ribeye begging to go home with me, and since it wasn't raining for a change, I let it. Could only finish half of it, but it sure was tasty with a fresh salad and baked potato...

Weather guesser is predicting 70s by the end of next week, and little to no rain until now. The folks at the dam will be happy for the help...

TGIF gang!

Going to have to admit that the best part of bicycling is admiring women in those sprayed on outfits going by.

Around here, Drew, an unfortunate number of gals really shouldn't be parading around in those skin tight outfits, or yoga pants, either. You know, the ones that go down the hill a LOT faster than up it?

61°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 64° (which it is now), then dropping through the day to around 28° overnight.

The siding was installed on the sunroom yesterday, and the carpenter did a superb job of matching the slightly faded color of the existing siding on the house. Also installed was the new Fujitsu Halcyon split unit AC/heater for the sunroom. Electrician was supposed to come today to finish the wiring, but called The Wife and said he'd been in the emergency room most of the night. Probably the flu. So, no power in there yet this weekend (sigh).

Mike, I've noticed a serious uptick in the skunk population around us this year. Last Sunday, in the two short trips I made out of the house, I encountered about a dozen whose nearsightedness proved a fatal asset while crossing roads. Last year wasn't too bad, but this year looks like it may be a rough one.

I had a nice Gitane 10-speed when I was a teenager. Found it at a garage sale for $75. :cool2: Lady's son had gone to college and left it behind. Gave it to my nephew when I got married ... and he promptly destroyed it. :duh:

My 68 mile commute dead skunk in the road count is hovering at between 6-8 each way right now.

63°F and no rain since midnight

Enough rain yesterday to keep the metal roof wet and slick enough to stop production. Hoping for a drier day today.

Be safe
Have a great day

...

Funny you mentioned uptick, now that I think about it, the road kill numbers over the past few days are way up. I think 3 are fresh kills within my 4 mile trek to the main road.

I will have to pay more attention.

A few minutes ago I came from finding a fresh borough on the side of an old out building. So I think I shall set some traps there.

I use have-a-hearts with blankets over them, and usually when I collect one, the USMC get it with my relocation services. LOL.

Can't say I really miss skunks.

Aww, give the kitty some food, water and a cat door. He/She has adopted you, you should be honored.
Or you could start a gofundme for the kitty.

It is very wild. When I go in barn I have seen it, it hides and then doesn't move. I see it on camera once or twice a day. Might put some food out so it doesn't die in there.

75 out as temps drop to 51 tonight, than back up to 80 tomorrow.
80 and February doesn't seem right...as some of you are still pushing snow.

picked up some oil for the new chipper but ran out of time/energy to get it put in.
That's on the list for tomorrow, and hopefully the pto shaft they provide will not have to be cut.
