38° on wunderground.

Yesterday I used up all my hrs allotted to the project I was working on from home, writing python scripts. Waiting to hear back from the boss on if there’s any more work I can do from home, or if I need to go in. I’m pretty much done, could always improve them, but no hrs.
Probably will take today off without pay, to save on leave.
That means fun with the tractor in the woods, if not too windy.
Also been working on a way to improve the church service video stream. I am song leader this week, it’s rough leading with only 6 people in the building, and I have to change the music on the screen as I lead.
Sounds like wind is picking up, screens are rattling. don’t like to work in woods with lots of wind.
Should get out of bed, but why rush a good thing.

Now we all know that weather forecasting is not an exact science, but sometimes it's a bit comical. It's 70 degrees going for a high of 81 here today, and it seems that several forecasters pretty much agree on that. However, we have a 30% to 80% chance of rain, depending on which forecaster you listen to. And we may or may not have any severe weather with it; high winds, hail, etc. Right now, it's solid overcast, but a very nice morning to sit outside.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 5:30AM. Partly cloudy. High 82F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

While you're waiting, Ron, check out a couple of folks that have YouTube channels for some videos to familiarize you with operating the Mini. I found "Captain Drone"'s reviews on the mini helpful, but "Ian in London" has some great tips on actually flying them.

I think there are a lot of folks that have gotten used to working at home that are going to be very unhappy going back to work. I always enjoyed telecommuting, but just hated flying around the country for the job, and being in the office wasn't much fun, either. I guess that's why they call it work!

Good luck with the scorpions, Kyle. Biggest thing I've done here to keep the bugs at bay is to caulk, caulk, caulk. Around all the doors and windows, and especially where the walls meet the foundation. Yet that Jerusalem Cricket somehow managed to find its way in...:confused2:

Finished phase 1 of the radio install in the van yesterday, having put off adding the amps for the main channels and the subwoofer. But the wire and fuse blocks are on order.

I notice now that free 2 day Prime shipping at Amazon is a thing of the past. It's still free, but delivery times are out two weeks, with wide ranges in variability. Not sure if that's because Amazon doesn't have enough people working the warehouses filling orders, if it's not enough capacity through the USPS or UPS etc. or they're having trouble getting merchandise.

I'm headed north to little Medford, Oregon this morning to visit an outfit that sells used construction equipment accessories. I'm hoping to come home with a skid steer adapter I can use as a basis for converting the cement mixer to work on the front of the tractor. I also just want to get out of the house and put a few more break in miles on the van. I need supplies anyway, this is just a bit longer trip than usual to get them. I'll also swing by the Kubota dealer up there and pick up some SUDT fluid. Oregon has no sales tax, and that alone might be enough savings to pay for the gas.

What day is it?...

All this talk of scorpions reminds me of a couple of things I'm sure I've posted in the past.

I guess I was 5 or 6 years old when one night I was awakened by a sting on my hand, assumed a wasp in the room, so I covered my head with the sheet, then felt a sting on my hand that was not under the sheet, so I got that hand and everything all covered up, and that next sting really hurt and I figured that wasp was under the sheet with me, so I came out of bed yelling. Mother and Dad came rushing in and turned a light on, and a big old scorpion was on my pillow. Of course Dad killed the scorpion, but I slept the rest of the night elsewhere; wasn't about to get back into that bed that night.

And then in 1973, when we had 2 very small daughters, we bought a new house. And the first night in that house, before I went to bed, I killed 2 scorpions in the living room. I don't recall what it cost, but I had professional exterminators there the next day. I guess you could say I had a phobia where scorpions were involved.

When I was about 5 I got "stung" bad by a short on a lamp cord. To this day I remember it when I have to do electrical work.

Don, that's a lot of trimming. What do they do with it?

The park is pushing it into a big pile to burn. While cutting a 20" cedar out from under an oak my muffler fell off the chainsaw. While looking in the owners manual to make sure I found most of the pieces, and in what order they go back, I saw that it says to tighten the screws occasionally - I never knew that, so everybody make sure you mufflers screws are tight on your chainsaw. I did not find one screw and one part is broken so a new muffler kit is on order from Amazon.

34 going to 52 - hopefully the last freeze warning as my tomatoes are coming soon as well as the blackberries. I have a ton of raspberries on the property along the driveway and open areas, but the local varmints always get to them first.
Kyle, They eat scorpions in certain places, haven't tried them myself. What is attracting them? Maybe set up a "honey pot" of their favorite snack to get them in one place for removal?
Eric, the steel border looks great. Nice planting area.
Ron, used to have a Groundhog that would come up and sun himself on the deck at our old house. One day he climbed up on the picnic table bench, then onto the picnic table and ate the flowers in the pot on the table. A lot of climbing, didn't know they could do that, me no knowing didn't slow him down though.

Be well all and stay safe.
