Good morning!!!!

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 59° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 69° with scattered thunderstorms. Not much done yesterday. Did get some new batteries for Mail Chime installed. Got notice when mail arrived. Should be cutting grass today. But may be to wet. Been using Gator Blades on mower for a couple of weeks. Lawn looks a lot better. Plus it is now cut at 3 1/2". When done cutting it looks better than old blades at 3". Still have not had a good day to put down weed killer.

Eric, when I was a kid we used a lawn sprinkler instead of a splash and blast. I need to dig out some old photos. We had a swimming pool. That was in the early 50's.

David, with all the rain you get. I would put something down to stop sand from washing out from under pavers. Not sure what that is though.

May the best of your today be the worst of your tomorrow.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 4:30AM. Sunny skies this morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. High 82F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Beautiful day yesterday, with sunshine and light winds. Then toward evening, the northern sky darkened as monstrous clouds made their way south, booming and flashing as they came. Fortunately they passed to the east, close enough to watch, far enough away to not leave anything behind but a brief rainbow display. Looks like there may be a repeat this evening.

I made a few photographs of the clouds, and will try to get them posted here later today for you weather freaks out there...

Made a punch list for the red dirt bike, and there are just too many items on the list to make it ready for the weekend. So I swapped the battery out of the big road bike over to the old dirt bike, gave it a wash, put some gas in it, and it fired right up. Topped off the oil and air, and it's ready for the weekend. Fooled around with the van a bit; hope to finish that job before going into town for groceries this afternoon.

Hope everyone enjoys their day...

Got home from work yesterday expecting to sweat a little while mowing, only to find the nephew already had half of the back yard done. So, I let him go. He got most of the grass mowed before it got dark. Freed me up to do some other chores.

Isn't it nice to get some unexpected help every now and then?

14.5 tons of gravel just got delivered, pile looks really small....it was definitely a full tandem axle truckload...hopefully it will be enough to do want I want to do. Got 1" minus road base at $16 / ton delivered, I guess not too bad of a price.

That's a great price. We just paid $230/load for straight out of the pit run road base. It had a bunch of sticks and stones up to 5", but mostly smaller stones. Will have to pick out the large ones.

May have made a wrong turn yesterday. While returning from HD yesterday afternoon got struck about a dozen cars back at intersection - right in front of LS dealer. Just happened to have 2 MT125s sitting there. Rarely see the tractors sitting there so I figured perhaps a good time to stop and ask questions. So I did. Seems he has several more models in the warehouse, including the one that interests me, XR4140H. I was surprised to learn the price was in my budget window. My thinking has been to look at tractors next year, but now my brain is trying to dissuade me. Wife didn’t comment when I mentioned, but I’m sure that’s being influenced by the propane line not being done.

Good luck with the tractor shopping.

Woke up to the sound of thunder. How far off I sat and wondered. Counted the seconds between flash and boom. The worst went just south of us, but we did get some much needed rain.

I went out last night and spread the 2 loads of gravel in about 45 minutes. I will have to work on it some more to get it level prior to installing the equipment shed. Using my trusty water level.

I wish I'd have known about products like this back when I had pavers for a back patio. It would have prevented the sand from washing out between the joints and stopped the weeds from growing in the joints...

RNG it does stop washing but a few weeds will still get in. But maybe not in Hawaii where the pavers don't contract and expand with the temperature extremes like in Texas.

A wimpy cool front came through last night dropping 1/4" of rain and lowering temps 5˚. 71˚F only getting to the high 80s today, cloudy.

Table saw class went well, our instructor had all his fingers and extensive teaching was on safety and pinch point awareness on the wood and how to prevent throw back. I have finished 3 classes of the 23 taught. I need to see if they have announced another round of classes. They are suppose to teach all 23 classes each 12 month period.

Need to do business with mom so road trip, and maybe get the yard today. Yesterday I was trying to unconfused AT&T about my Moms account with direct TV. I can't get the account out of my Dad's name without paying $40 more a month. But after 5 hours they did it. Next time she needs new equipment I'll put up an antenna - that would take me less than 5 hours to do.

Getting up to only 92 today.

Will feel better than the 98 yesterday while I was bush hogging a couple more food plots.

Got a few more hundredths of an inch of rain late.

David, good luck with your pavers - sage advice from the paver king, Don. Also hope you make the right decision on the tractor.

Glad we don't have black flies, but I have started logging my deer fly kills again this year, starting last week.

I need to go on my first poison ivy hunt but there's been too much wind.

RNG, looking forward to you cloud pix.
