I'm 56 and feel like 80 after mechanic-ing on my knees for over an hour or more.

Sodamo, could you imagine trying to explain what you are doing to someone back in the '80's? . New technology. Can't live without it.

Got my new to me Altima. Needed new rear tires. Old ones cupped badly from lack of rotation. Much better now. I love the big gas tank. 20 gallon. I'm used to filling up every other day during the work week.

Topp, I have an aluminum light pole I want to turn into a flagpole.

Wngsprd, almost 2 years ago I started a rehab project on a 1973 Marlin jet boat the my father in law purchased new. After his death my brother in law had it wrapped in a tarp for almost 20 years and never moved it. After new floor, transom, jet drive, seats, complete paint job, motor, gauges, gas tank, wiring, steering wheel, ect. It should be water ready by the end of May the only original part is the gas peddle. Having the trailer sandblasted and painted next week. Guess you can call it a labor of love because I love my bride and she is thrilled her dads boat is back! ( cost me more than it cost new in 73. But the best part when I stopped at the marine repair shop he had a very nice and clean party boat, pontoon, for sale it's being delivered next week. Now to tell the truth I'm a little concerned if I had a horse and saddle or tractor I'm all set but a boat I could be dangerous

Good morning. Temperature here is certainly not in the same league as some are enjoying, although the days are bright and dry. Looked so good out yesterday that we had a picnic by the pond. The wind was blowing hard, keeping us sat in the car while watching lapwings and 4 oystercatchers parade up and down the far bank. Out of the wind it was hot, for the first time this year we had to open a window in the middle of the night. So sorry to hear that time has been dragging since you retired. Your brain is obviously not keen at slowing down to a gentler pace in life. You need to start some little projects to keep you occupied. Once you get the hang of taking enjoyment out of the things you never really had time for before, you will soon expand on them until there will be far too few days in a week to ever get bored. Now you have the time, why not join in more regularly on Good Morning ? I'm sure many of us would enjoy seeing more pics of lake Pocotopaug - in all kinds of weather. I think you are so lucky to have the prospect of living in such a beautiful place and that your wife wants to make that your new home.

Eric I will be posting more often been away just making quick check in's, I do miss the conversations and banter. As the weather continues to warm I'll be at the lake more often and will get some pics up.

Kyle, I am 72 ( would be 73 but was sick a year) feel like 92. Just want to tell you that it don't get no better. When they told me I was over the hill they never told me some one would push me down that hill.
Started feeling old in my late 60's. Was getting in my truck and dropped my keys. Bent over to pick them up and lost my balance and fell. Some nice young man ( probably in his late 30's) was coming over to help me up asking "are you alright SIR". Never been called sir since I left the Air Force in 69.
Started feeling old that day and just got worst. When they say that youth is wasted on the young I now know what they mean and it is true.
I know they say that you are only as old as you feel. Well like I said I feel like I'm 92.
Congrats on the new car. You say it needs new tires so it sounds like a new car to you not a 2017. All my vehicles ,a truck ,car, tractor,riding mower were purchased used. That's another thing, your retirement money ( no matter how much ) will not last for as long as you though it would.
I still thank the good Lord for every day and for letting me wake up in the morning. Never to old for that.
Hope I cheered you up somewhat. May be some 92 year old will write to cheer me up.
