Morning all!
We had rain and freezing rain all day yesterday until about 5 pm. We are now at 20 which will be the high for the day. Winds having been gusting into the low 40mph all night. Not sure what the damage is out there. Will check once the sun comes up. At least the power stayed on all night!
Cancelled Tuesday breakfast with the neighbor yesterday. Not worth chancing an accident. Will resume next year.

Will sand the driveway here in a few hours and then head to the apartment to do that one too. At least no one has to go anywhere for the day.
Other then that will be laying low and conserving energy!

Wind fought me the whole time I was bringing in firewood. Since it got up to 61F, I let the stove go out. Now need to clean it and fire it back up. May try to split some firewood if my splitter feels like it...it is not always easy to start in cold weather.

Good morning TBN!!
24 this morning and probably won't make it to 40 today. Wind has been blowing all day and night. Laid down a little now but will be back after daylight.

Yesterday I got my 300cf o2 tank filled for $50. Ought to last me for a while.
Ran some other errands so we should be good until next year.
Once we got back I rigged the feeder to a couple of small pullys to raise and lower for filling. Got it painted. All I have left is to rig the solar panel.
Puttered around doing this and that and called it a day.

Kept neighbor cats in garage last night. Have an old flannel sheet on golf cart that BB lays on. Snagglepuss takes an old cat bed.
garage is insulated, and when real cold i fire up the pellet stove in there.

Good morning, the low is -1 and going to 10° on the plus side. Periods of light snow ending around noon. Wind WNW 17 gusting to 26 mph.
I'll go out and plow at noon. There is about 3" on the ground so far.

29 outside right now, may get to 36 as todays high. Yesterday I was fighting the wind. My "garage"/"equipment"/"wood" shed lost a few panels off the roof. That building really needs to be replaced, the parts are original to the farm. The roof panels have so many holes in them from attempts to hold them down it is like a history lesson on nails and screws.

We did managed to clean out the wood stove and restart it as the temperature began to descend. Today will be feeding the stove day. Not much else.

No idea, she went off trail in front of us, yelped and that was the end of the hike. Could not find what she stepped on, a t-like puncture, 2 stiches. She is doing well, but one can tell she is depressed. Another week and hoping all is back to normal.

good morning, 24 going to 29 and the wind is still with us

Wind blew out one of the storm windows upstairs. Made it very cold inside on the upper floor. Fixed it and secured better for now
Running the oil heat a little this morning and fired up the wood stove. Sifted the glows and coals and removed the ashes into the ash bucket. Have to wait for the wind to die down before taking it outside.
Blew over the trash can up at the road also so got that repositioned for pick up today
No major branches or trees down fortunately
Going to the groomer today

The last letter we sent to Denmark may be in limbo but the private company DEO I still delivering letters. We will see

20 earlier now 21 wind gust to 26 feels like 10 chilly. Precious has been out and fed sleeping in front of my chair. Went to store yesterday out of lots of things very few eggs, no cottage cheese, diet lemonade strawberry preserves. Not sure what’s up with this.

Good morning TBN crew! Its 15 here this am and kinda nice since the wind is gone. With 2 snowflakes falling now, that bad weather front has passed through. East if us seemed to have got the most snow, like the high country near Marquette MI had area's with 30+". With our atv 6x6 at camp, I had to beak out the blower. Our new atv is of course, still awaiting parts. In the below pic coming out of our garage, the area snow storage is seen in the background. Just nothing exciting to report from here.

it held about 300 pounds of rectangular gym weights I repurposed from
something put out on the street.
I sold the blower when I took the machine down South.
but Gravely is still working hard, now up in the Catskills at its forever home.

Morning all, 29 going to 33 and windy enough to move me around while walking.
Tried to scrape off some ice with the plow, it helped a little.
Even breaking it up with the tractor tires helped a bit.
This cold thought refroze whatever didn't get off the road.

Had a delivery show up last night, big delivery van, front wheel drive. ended up sliding down into the grass in front. Luckily didn't hit tree or bushes. Took a while for him to get out. Weird seeing his huge van spinning the right front wheel only. Might have worked better with some tread.

Did use the steel shovel to get a lot of ice off the driveway circle, I guess just not enough for that van.

Neighbors stopped by to pick up a package and dropped off some Christmas presents for us

Will try to get some sand down on the driveway where there is still ice this morning.
Not sore from chipping ice yesterday, which is good.

Good Morning.
27°, and that’s about where it’s gonna stay all day.
Windy, but no snow. Maybe tomorrow, but none today.

Yesterday worked out very well. It was freezing when I got up, but temps were on the rise. They peaked in the high 40’s after lunch, and then into the twenties after sunset.

I went out after lunch and attacked the ice, which was at least, partially slush. It’s not perfect, but all surfaces are walkable, my walk is completely dry.

Met some friends for lunch, loaded grain into the barn, spent some time practicing with 3D modeling, printed some Bauer tool holders for a friend.
Finished the day by picking up son and grandson at the auto shop, grandson is growing up to fast, but great to see him wandering around the shop checking everything out.

Today is another blank canvas, but I should be getting ready for my new TIG welder, it should be here in the next few days.

Drew, yesterday I couldn’t stand up on the ice Today it’s absolutely brutal out there. The boys are taking our grands to the Children’s Museum in Rutland.
