RNG, pretty high center of gravity, sway bars?
nice blue....

Still riding pretty high because there's nothing in it. Nothing as in no engine, no transaxle, no cabinets, no beds, no sink, not even any seats. I hope it drops at least a couple inches when all that's installed, as right now as soon as the pop top goes on it'll be too high to fit under the garage door.

41 here now, stayed up very late. Enjoyed the reporters that were in shock. The market was down last night they said, but appears to be fine this morning, looks like they are up a bit. I'll leave it at that for the politics, hoping that we get some broken things fixed with the results we got.

Here's the shot I was looking for earlier showing the van coming off the trailer at the mechanic's.

Which reminds me, I need to scrub the deck on the trailer before I return it this morning...

and to think I heard it right here, from our own Toppop :dance1:
Unemployment is currently pretty low relatively but not for
certain groups based on age or minority. And if we don't employ some of these hard to employ,
well sure seems that a lot of them revert/resort to a life of crime instead.

Most folks who are working and getting a decent wage aren't likely to come breaking into your home.
They are trying to protect their own.
Now Toppop, are we going to get another Works Progress Administration?
We could use some guardrails on Route 17 btw where the embankment falls down a dozen feet into water.
I was amazed this state would allow something that dangerous along a high speed road. Pennsylvania wouldn't.
Virginia wouldn't. Delaware for sure wouldn't. They spend more on infrastructure than NC and which is why my taxes are very low.
Too low clearly since important stuff isn't getting done, the schools are D rated and there's no money
to improve them. And I sure hope some bridge doesn't collapse under any of us.
Tell you what, ask me in four years if those guard rails get installed.

I wonder how much the Trump brand has now escalated in value. He may have to divest something and maybe now will someone
review his tax returns? Lot of people would like to get a hold of them and see exactly how successful this man really was.
Well, warts and all, he's our Prez...he soundly beat Hillary in this election.

back to regular programming.

In infrastructure scoring, North Carolina did only get a C, but Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland all got C-. Delaware didn't get a score.

I was just wondering about that this morning, too. One of the promises made during the campaign was to bring jobs back from overseas. How is that going to work when the reason they left to begin with was so big corporations could pay people less for doing the same job? Do you think the Average American will take less money for jobs that used to be here? Do you think american companies will invest the millions of dollars in infrastructure and materials needed to build the factories in which those people would work unless they get some kind of guarantee that they can continue to pay them what they did in China? And what about the people that just don't want to work, and would rather panhandle on our city streets or steal or rob for a living?

My take is that the jobs horse has already left the barn, and getting it back in is gonna take a lot more than what the new president has in his pockets or can do with his shiny new pen. Especially with the sacred cows of unions, tariffs, welfare, etc. alive and well and showing no signs of going anywhere else.

43°F and clear skies here this morning, going up to 61°

PJ, curious on how you manage to burn such a long line of leaves. A 200 foot sprinkle of black powder would be fun. :)

Eric, I just blew them across the front lawn, back and forth in a line, until they reached the lower driveway. I used a rake to mound them up, then lit one end. There was a slight breeze from the southeast that afternoon, so I burned it from the opposite end to keep the wind from accelerating it into the pile. It went nice and slow, so nothing could get quickly out of hand. They were very dry, so they burned easily.

Black powder would indeed be fun, especially that long. I don't have anything that shoots BP, though. All modern cartridges that I reload, and modern powder isn't nearly as much fun to burn in the open like that.

I voted at least three times for Roy, I lost count.

I voted twice! Nice thing about living across from a cemetery! If they can do it in Chicago, I can do it in Bethel!

My mom is 93 and voted as well, she's happy today!

50's now, 60's later, raining gently.

Drew, I wouldn't worry about a selloff, it's temporary and the money will come home. Like RNG said, buy some cheap stocks and make a killing when Trump grows the economy and puts everyone back to work! :D

Sturm Ruger is on sale! Bought some more.

Good Morning! 57F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. High near 70F. Winds light and variable.

Not much change with the arm, still very swollen but itching more than painful. Not used to feeling a big pad of water under my elbow when I try to use the armrest.
Hope it gets better soon.

If there is a selloff in the stock market today, it'll be because the Republicans have control over both houses of Congress AND the White House, and that much power held by one party in this deeply divided country is not good, especially not good for business. I just hope the Republicans can moderate their enthusiasm for doing things their way and instead do what's best for the entire country.

On the not so good side of the coin, Proposition 63 passed, and now folks in the Golden State will need a license to purchase ammunition, be subject to a waiting period, and can not legally own magazines holding more than ten rounds.

Proposition 64 also passed, so we'll all now be able to smoke marijuana for recreational purposes without a prescription.
So you can be high while you wait for your license to buy ammo...and smoke while you load 10 round magazines.

But Proposition 60, which would have required **** stars to wear condoms on the job, was defeated. Further proof that this once great state is well and truly on its way to H3LL in a hand basket.

As I watched the election results come in last night, I was struck by how clearly the Democratic Party wins outlined the major metropolitan areas in most states. Is it because people who like having things done for and to them also tend to flock to the big cities? Almost all my neighbors moved out into the sticks to get away from other people telling them what to do. So perhaps we're seeing the independent thinkers, the folks that prefer to do for themselves, and the anti-government types rise up in an attempt to stop the nanny state?

Happy Hump Day gang!
90% of the nation was painted red in the graphic.

What a Wake-up this Morning!!!!

Not to be political, but everything is political... Just Wow.

No matter what side you were on yesterday, and for the record I am neither Republican nor Democrat, last night was a historic election here in the US. Now I just watched a YouTube of a gracious and candidly Presidential acceptance speech and I find a flutter of hope that we can mend the chasms that developed this last 8-16 years. That we can finally restart the powerful economic engine that is the heart and core of America. It does not matter who or what we voted yesterday, today is a new day and maybe we can start rebuilding and dare I say it, maybe together we CAN make America Great again...

New Love, new Job, new POTUS coming soon...

I'm optimistic this morning.

Rain and 56 degrees here. Nice and quiet.

Happy Anniversary Randy. My 1st is in a couple weeks

Be well & God Bless America, all of it.

David

Hope your right, bring back millions of manufacturing jobs. Not just robotic automation implementation. Incentives and dis-incentives to get the job done, (bringing back jobs)..

The horse has left, the Chinese have bought the barn and are drilling for oil underneath it. Maybe things will cost more, but last longer?
