Garage Renovation question

/ Garage Renovation question #21
It's a stick frame building? Hire a house mover to pick it up and crib it. Do all your work you want to, then have him reset it. Shouldn't cost too much. I just moved my house, that had an interior chimney. It was much less expensive than what I thought it would be. If he can't move it further back, he could put it 9' in the air and you could run a skidsteer and a mini excavator underneath. Heck, once my rops were folded down, I could run my tractor under my house. It was cribbed up about 9'4" in the air.

may not be feasible for you, but thought I would let you know it is an available option.

That would work, too.

But with BrentD saying the garage and a corner of the house have sunk since he has been there and saying there is an unground stream somewhere...I start to wonder how much $ he needs to invest in this or whether there is some homeowner's insurance to cover these repairs. Seems like there is a difference between gradual sinking and a sudden collapse in terms of normal policy coverage, but this is something to consider.

Well, 90 percent of my posts in this thread have been me basically brainstorming and thinking out loud. The more I think about this the more I want to just put the place up for sale and go build a nice house and workshop on our land in the country.
