Always a foot or 3 off the ground unless loading a truck or something like that. Be very careful when ever a loader is very far off the ground.

Keeping it low is more stable on slopes. Keeping it high, will allow you to turn over fenceposts etcetera.

I keep mine low both for safety and visibility. I will raise it occasionally to help navigate obstacles, but then it goes right back down again.

I normally keep the top of my bucket showing just above the nose of my hood, which I estimate puts the bottom of the bucket roughly 18" off the ground. This balances against my boxblade well, gives about all the visibility I'm going to get and keeps the center of gravity lower. I raise as necessary to clear obstacles and then resume said height. In rare cases I have run my bucket on the ground in float while bushogging very slowly thru high, unknown fields.

Ditto the previous posters, keep it low.

Don't let the safety police read this thread, they will arrest you.

I keep it foot or so off the ground and the bucket curl back.
