Siphoned 12 gallons of 0 degree Walmart windshield washer fluid from a 5-gallon bucket into each rear tire. Lifted the rear tires slightly with a floor jack and deflated them. The tires seemed to be a little above the level of the axle. I believe 15 gallons would have put them at the 3/4 mark. The whole process took about 3 hours. It will be interesting to see how the ballast and the 2" rear wheel spacers effect the side to side stability.

I put 40 gallons in each rear on my last tractor.

You will find an improvement in stability.

Between the spacers, and the extra 180 or so lbs. down low - You will be pleased.

Of course it works and FANTASTIC thinkin BUD..............For me, when I did this, I put the valve stem at 10 oclock and when it started to "flow out" I knew where I was..............Anyway, it works...........God bless...........Dennis

So you take the shrader valve out of the stem and connect the flexible tube to stem. How does the air in the tire get out as it's displaced by the fluid? Or is there enough head pressure to keep the flow going without letting air out?

I originally planned on removing the shrader valve and using a very small plastic tube (about 1/8" od I think) that would pass thru the shrader valve opening and still have a little clearance for air to escape from the tire. I had done a test shiphoning windshield washer fluid thru that small tube. It would have worked, but it would have been 3 or 4 time slower.

But I found that the valves that came on the wheels where the type of valves that the whole shrader valve section could be unscrewed and removed (it seals with a small o-ring). That allowed me to use a larger plastic tube (1/4" od I think) which made siphoning much faster (about 1 gal per 8 minutes).

My main concern was that the tire might start leaking around the bead before I could get the fluid in and the tire aired back up, but that did not happen.

Guys here is the fill valve to use.

Amazing the gizmos that are out there, and I've never even heard of them.
