IMHO, I wonder if it is a apple/apple comparison more than Ford/Chevy kinda thing. Husky, Stihl, and others make dual lines; Pro, and consumer. That is key to comparison in this case. Check to see which saws are comparable in both the Stihl and the Echo product line.

I guess it's kinda like comparing a "Pro" Ford F250 crewcab 4x4 diesel to a "consumer" Chevy 1500 regular cab 4x2 gas v6... Or a "Pro" Ford F250 crewcab 4x4 diesel to a "Pro" Chevy 2500 crewcab 4x4 diesel...

Well I purchased the echo CS-305.I hope it it will make a great saw. It came with a 14" bar and a kickback safety device.
