I'm thinking about buying a cheapo bike to use only on the trainer. I really don't like having my expensive (to me) road bike on there getting all those miles. I could use the Raleigh, but it's an antique and I'd like to preserve it too.I have these weird orangey tires on my inside bikes for the trainer. I just have two rear wheels for that bike.
Runner you need to get one of the front wheel trainers. You could double
your workout.

The one in the pictue is a Continental Super Sport. When it shreds, I've got some budget Amazon tires I'm going to throw on there, just to see what happens. They are called Fincci or something like that. Two tires and two tubes for $30.Runner on the trainer I used Continental Ultra Sport 28x700. Never had one go bad.
I had a Schwinn Continental with a few upgrades. Did a 250 mile trip from Truckee Ca to Mt Lassen and back to Quincy Ca with Scouts when I was 12. Wish I had it now.If I were looking for a road bike, It would be a Schwinn Continental. Just because I had one in High School
Tubular forks, sew ups, down tube shifters, Lycet seat,
But I live a mile from pavement, flats suck!
