Not sure this is still a Live topic ,, but just in case it is live . Does anyone have # for a carb kit for the carb on a Wisconsin on a C99 .
I wouldn't mind a copy of that manual & parts list if any are still available . My history , I bought my first C99 @35-40 years back after it had spent some 15-20 maybe hard years at a rental yard . Yea , they frame was bent , the front part was frozen but we worked through it . I bought another one from a rental yard in Santa Clara CA that had put like 10-15 of them on their side lot & forgot about them . I was taking back a skid steer one day when I noticed what looked like a pair of C-99 handle bars stickin out . I went over & pulled some of the branches away & saw 3 C-99 underneath with several more behind them , so as we were finishing up my paperwork I asked what the deal was with them . Guy said take as many as ya want for 200 a piece . Didn't take much for me to respond " I'm yer Huckelberry " & told them to pull out some of them so I could check them out & I would be back the next day . When I went back the manager told me I should charge 500 but I did tell ya 200 , It was a lot more work gettin them out than I though it would be . Turn's out that the plant engulfing the C-99 starter towards the front of the building & had grown through each & every unit that was back there . He said it took 2 of my guys the better part of the day to dig out 5 of them . SO I did some lookin & picked the best of the 5 & had them put it in my truck . Took some parts here & there over the years to keep the first one going . Against my better judgement I loaned it to the hubby of a gal that worked for my wife . Yep it came back with no transmission , so I took the one off the spare & fixed it . Last week she tells the neighbor he could borrow it , so then I had to make it run aftr sittin for the last 5 years . Dodged a bullet cause when I pulled the carb apart th rubber tip on the needle fell off in my hand . Dodged a bullet this time .
thanks
sorry for the long story , but sometimes when I get going I can't help it
thanks

Quite the adventure story. I just sent the manuals including the ones for the engine. I have to imagine that the carb part you are looking for should be available somewhere.

Best wishes and keep us posted,

Gary

I have found that 1) I can trench more with rentals than I can possibly install in one shot, and 2) trenches do not age well.

The upshot is re-digging all those trenches out by hand with a contractor's shovel, or cobbling up something that allows the CUT to help with the chore. Neither have turned out well for me. Rain also disperses or compacts your backfill.

So, I bought a trencher off of Craig's List. Been stalking them for some time, but the $$ or condition put me off. Until now....

This "antique" Ditch Witch C-99 is an awesome little digger. It was $950 and I will call that good. The rope start kicks it on first pull every time (so far). It was well cared for and home-serviced.

Shifting forward and reverse is a little tricky. I can share one painful way not to do it, but it works pretty well once you get the hang of it. I can run an easy 2' deep when and wherever I want, and it's at least a little more maneuverable in some of the tighter places.

You trench in the reverse creeper gear, and once it's all going you can sit down and watch. It will just pull a straight line unless you hit something you should have known was there. Or an undocumented rock.

If anyone else has one, I have scanned the owner's manual and have the parts book as well. It's been out of production since at least '99.

I have finally got my pipes from the well to the house (and under the driveway, courtesy of a rental UnderWonder) and am finally making some real progress.
I just acquired a c99 and would love to have the manuals if you could send a PDF to me. I found a manual for the AENLD engine online for $20 but it's not a very good quality copy
