I browse TBN via the "today's posts" and the "new posts" links...often on a hand held device...it gets annoying seeing some of the threads that for some reason are popular but really offer nothing of value (other than entertainment for those that are easily amused)...

IMO TBN needs an "UNRELATED" / Off Topic" forum or a way to ignore threads in the "related topics" that really are not "related" to anything other than something the OP finds and thinks others will find amusement in..

there is an easy way to remedy this...please install this...:

Its truly amazing what you will find on a specific forum like TBN. Its the difference between being informed or entertained and sometimes its both.

Maybe expressing your concerns to ForumRunner is in order. Since one very popular software is going the route of filtering, then maybe they will consider it and put it on thier "to do list".

You mean something like the Front Porch forum? It would be nice if people would start such threads in there.

We already have 3 of these sections.

Rural Living: I see posts in here all the time that have nothing to do w/ living in the country.

Related Topics: Related to what exactly? Again, random posts it seems.

Front Porch: No description so I assume this is suppose to be the Off Topic section.

IMO, combine these 3 into just 1 forum that everyone can post random off topic stuff in since that's what everyone is already doing.

The threads I would like to remove from the lists I see are the ones that don't fit any of those categories except the Front Porch which has restricted access...and the "related topics" forum has basically become an OFF TOPIC forum...as at least 75% of the threads are NOT related to any of the other topical forums...

For some reason there seems to be a lot of TBN users that have not quite conquered the definition of "related"...(or "association" either for that matter...) jmo...

Pretty subjective. For instance, I don't consider Older Potheads would really be a valid related topic, but you seem to be enjoying it. (I am too, so don't take offense). I guess I'm just wondering who gets to decide what's ok?

You seem to miss the point entirely...I don't want the ability to "ignore" a forum...just particular threads...

To be a little more specific...the types of threads I would like the ability to ignore are some of the ones that for some reason get a lot of posts that are nothing but bantering...and sometimes just blathering...

Having the ability to not even see a thread a user has zero interest in would be a welcome asset to TBN IMO...

Ah yes, I did miss your point. That would be a nice feature!

And to answer my own question (if this feature were added) - who gets to decide if a thread in any forum is worthy? Me!

I like that answer.
