I have started trimming the chain width to fit. These things are tough. Already have a few nicks in my big ACE brand bolt cutters. One side down and the other to go. Next hooking up the side links - should be fun.

Well you can all laugh at me. I had a Homer moment on top of my AAADD. I had carefully measured out and market the side chain for installing the cross links. Everything went fine on the first set until I got to the last one. OMG - something was wrong :eek::eek: I should have had 6 links of side chain left, but I had a whole bunch more. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!:mur::mur::mur:

I had measured 6 links between connections and it should have been 8. A whole day ruined - I had taken such care marking, checking to be sure I was not twisted, etc, as I clamped each one just exactly correct.:confused2::smiley_aafz::smiley_aafz::duh:

Dang - now I need to go back and undo what I did. Shucks At least I have the correct tools. Next time Keith, leave instructions for yourself.

Have a cold one and Laugh - I deserve it.

BTW: AAADD stands for age activated attentions deficit disorder - commonly know as a Senior Moment, or CRS...I think there is a thread on that, but I forget :D

Well - I undid what I did and now have both sets fabricated. Next the fitment and fine tuning. It is helpful to have the correct tools. Without the chain tool it would have been much harder.

Success - they fit. I have them 90% adjusted, just need to center the tensioners and trim the excess links on the inside. My son came for Turkey and I put him to work :D

Well it done. Everything adjusted and trimmed with spring tensioners installed. Got the front on today too, just need to fill in the pattern on one side. Need some D clips from TSC

Good job. Those look like aquiline (sp) chains with those ice bars. That tractor is unstoppable now.
