Your front blade looks very nice!!! I wish I had access to a machine shop in my area to do the rolls, etc. I'm kinda in the sticks.... Great work!!! Anxious to see the finished product.

I'm not actually doing the rolling or bending I have a local shop do that for me. I only have access to the cnc milling and turning machines at my work. Being a machinist has it perks.

I have the JD front blade with Quick Hitch for my JD2210. I love the hyd angle. Speeds up snow removal tremendously. I do all my snow removal with it. Have moved a little dirt but not much. I bought rear chains and used them the first year and haven't put them on since. I'm really surprised what that little tractor will push. A big snow for us is 8" though.

I wont be putting chains, but I will have a 60" blower on the 3pt hitch which will give me a good amount of weight on the rear wheels.

That's very cool. If you get a big snow you can windrow until you can't move it, turn around and blow it out of the way. Best of both Worlds.

Buddy of mine works in a local machine shop but they don't do walk-in work, just contracted stuff. He sneaks me out some small items once in a while but nothing like a rolled blade!!!

Keep us posted. You take pride in your work and I like that!!!

Thanks for the awesome comments. When I decide to do something I figure your putting all the time into the project you might as well try to make it as best you can. I also like to make stuff look like the factory made it.

I have a question for all of you... What colour would you paint it? I'm leaning towards JD Yellow but did consider JD green. The part that is attached to the blade that attaches to the quick attach will be black, so it just the blade itself that is in question. Green or Yellow....Yellow or Green.....What do you think???

I would paint it green.

Yellow would be higher visibility and mabe safer.

Paint the back of the mold board yellow for visibility, black for the linkage and cutting edge and green for the front of the moldboard. Put a big yellow Deere logo on the front of the moldboard for the finishing touch. Now, you're diggin where there's taters!

The hydraulic angling is one reason and this way I have more toys to play with:D. I also figured I can used the front hitch blade for levelling dirt or spreading gravel. I've tried leveling dirt with the loader and it work but I figured the way the tractor is more like a dozer. I originally bought the quick hitch because I wanted to but a blower on the front but I wont be able to build one before winter so I figured I make a blade and next summer maybe start on the blower.

Really!!?? Your going to build a blower from scratch? I have to see this. When you build it put a link back to this tread so I don't miss. Always impressed what guys can do in their spare time. I just mounted a sprayer on my z465 and happy it worked out.

I figured I would give it a try. I'm not even close to thinking about it.

Give it a try.........

The only thing that beats a try is a failure.

Just keep one thing in mind................someone else built any other blower you may consider buying.
