Battery powered chainsaw

I have the Echo DCS-5000 - great saw for a quick grab and go. Cuts as well as my CS-400 (I also own a CS-600P) but just doesn't have the legs. I can cut up a complete 10" trunk 60' tall oak limbs and all with one tank of gas with the CS-400 and have plenty left in the tank. With the 5Ah battery in the DCS-5000, I get half to 3/4 the way done before running out of battery. But you can't beat it for just grabbing a saw quick to do some fallen limb clean up or getting rid of smaller, young trees.

The "Guilty of Tree Son" You Tube personality has Many videos of animated electric and gas top handle chainsaws.

Some what too "youthful and fast paced" for me. But "Dude, that was rad"

Found this at the town dump/transfer station yesterday. Works fine, just broken handle. Replacement is $4...shipping was 3x that! :ROFLMAO: Hard to believe someone would toss a perfectly good saw over a $4 part.
Nothing I'd want to use for serious cutting, but it's light and perfect for those small jobs. Already have a bunch of Ryobi 18v tools, so I have batteries for it.

I have the Echo DCS-2500T (56V battery with 2.5Ah) and it astounds me how long the battery lasts and what a good cutter it is.
It's so light I keep having to remind myself it's not a toy.
There'e a nano kit for it that I plan on switching to in the near future. Only around $50 and the sprocket can be changed in minutes. Might even make it cut longer with a thinner kerf and less drag.

The rear handle echo 2500 version thats out overseas shows you can choose from 1/4" mini, 325 nano and 3/8LP.

I bet they put the 325 nano on our US least of choices like they did the 2511.

Just got to remember these are super light and small like a 25cc 2511. So not for big stuff.

As used 2511 and these suppose to be same with batt installed.

My 2500T came with 3/8s but don't know what that will mean for the rear handle model. It also looks like you can get a 5Ah battery in it.

My dad was looking for a hedge trimmer attachment for his kobalt 40v pole saw.

He gave up and just bought a extendable pole battery hedge trimmer with tilting head.

I was watching him show it off over labor day travels. Pretty dang cool for his uses.

We are always slow to change here. Just like my echo 2511 came with 325 nano from echo.

They refused to use the 1/4" micro here.

But glad they did I love the nano. Thats what the PN stand for on my 2511.

Thats what I am saying, I bet they offer nano as a choice here soon on all 2500's.

Must have been watching us talk here lol

If you had to choose between 1/4 micro and .325 nano, what would you choose?
