Intermittent problems sucks. Maybe you can pull a couple of fuses at a time and over time find out what circuit the issue is in?

Well thanks for your concern but it's not a big problem at this time. I just purchased a 2024 F350 and the old truck is now only used to carry my sled about once a week. It's less than a minute to plug in or disconnect, much like having a tractor that gets used a few times each winter for plowing snow.

On pulling a trailer that has a brake system requiring a battery, wire in a solenoid that is ignition hot on battery charge wire. That way, if the truck is off, the connection is broken. Easy to do. Just a suggestion for those who tow a lot!

That's something I've been meaning to do for years.

And the next time the flatbed comes off and I can get to the wiring, it'll happen.
There's already a factory ignition only wire back there.

Added the switch to the trailer because of the winch I installed on it. Didn't want that puny charge wire to try helping the trailer's battery.

I wonder if recycled lead is as good as virgin when it comes to batteries?

Lead ore is primarily lead sulfide AKA Galena. Seems to me that there is a lot of lead sulfide in old batteries. So I'm pretty sure "virgin lead" is the same as rode hard and put away wet lead once that lead has been through the refining process. I wonder if batteries from Virginia are any better. And what about West Virginia?

I always saw this as "Green Virtue Signalling", because the recycling of used lead batteries is "greener" than using virgin lead.
Greener = more environmentally sound.
