- Kubota MX5800 HST & L6060 HSTC Formerly L6060 HST B7100 HST, L2550, L3010 HST, L3430 HST
Lots posted on batteries here lately, so here's my contribution.
I'm not sure what's going on with Kubota batteries these days. It's been my experience that they used to average 8 - 10 years. The one in my L6060 died after just 3. No indication on the battery as to who makes it, it just has the Kubota logo and a bunch of numbers. Rumor has it, Kubota awarded the contract to Continental Battery Systems in 2023. Not sure who makes the one in my 2017 MX5800 but it's going on 7 years and still cranking.
The dealer wants $345 for a replacement! I said, that must include installation, but no, installation is $180 more! $525 for a battery replacement!! Maybe I've been out in the woods too long but that's just nuts! To add insult to injury, the warranty is just 36 months!
Took the measurements and profile to AA Auto and they cross referenced it with a Group 24 Die Hard. Price was $210 including tax and has the same 36 month warranty. Could have got a cheaper one for $179 but it had just a 24 month warranty. Yeah, Die Hard doesn't have the greatest reputation these days either but I'll just put the $135 in my pocket and take my chances.
