About desulfating:
The bigger Noco, Pulsetech Xtreme, BatteryMinder are excellent if given enough time. Problem is you gotta measure that with a calendar.
I pair Ctek with a homebrew small desulfator (kick back) and it works the same as the others. You need a calendar. Some batteries it isn’t a problem because they are parked a lot.

Why the whole jazz? Because I get at least double or triple the battery life than without it. Otherwise I go broke buying batteries every 2-3 years for ever machine or toy. Piles up fast!

I very rarely need a charger, but maintainers are a must for me.

Similarly, I don't expect desulfation to work overnight, but over years and decades it sure does.

I don't know the exact number at this point, but with some 100 batteries in vehicles, tractors, and trailers, like you I have had to learn what works and what doesn't.

Decades ago, Shumacher was top-of-the-line in chargers. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I just don't trust their stuff anymore.

However, I know nothing about this particular model. I'm sure it puts juice into the battery. Whether it does so reliably and in an appropriate manner I'll leave to one of those YouTube test channels.

My brother has the same one at the farm and no complaints… he said it was on sale for $59 and needed something more than the trickle chargers he already had…

I don’t think it boosts 6 volt but will charge 6 volt.

These chargers are cheap for a reason. There is no way you get something decent for that kind of money with a booster pack. This may start a lawn tractor or a lawn mower. But if you thing it will start a car with a click click dead battery, you need something else. Been there done that too. Started with something cheap and smaller, could start my car with a dead battery, ended up buying the big Noco GBX 155 boost pack. No regrets or worries there. So far it started all I got.
There are even bigger units twice and three times the size of the big Noco boost pack, have like 10000A to 15000A and made for 18 wheelers to boost. Also cost a lot more money, but it starts large diesels like there is no tomorrow.

Ditto. I've got a couple of the older transformer ones that are over 15 years old and they work like a charm. A newer one I had fried a battery in my bike, the warranty replacement attempted to do the same and after trying to get another under warranty all I got were crickets. Never again for Schumacher.

Those little Noco Genius chargers are just trouble. Not sure if they fixed that problem now, but I did have a small Noco Genius 2 on the bench. Killed the battery and itself. It was 7 months old. I fixed it faster than him sending it back for a warranty exchange. Had another one that was about 1.5 years old. Same thing. I put a more beefy part inside and it is still working.

Motormaster and Schumacher battery chargers are utter garbage. Also kill the battery and itself. Not worth a penny.

When these chargers killed the battery how long were they on the battery?

I have both a Noco genius 1 and a Schumacher that is about 5 years old. I don’t leave them on a battery for more than 12 hours. Just wondering if they are safe to use for a short time until the battery is fully charged.
