4044m NIGHTMARE!

I have a john deere 4044m I purchased new in 2017. 5 months ago with only 400hrs both rear axle seals started leaking. The dealer said there is some special tool that is needed to replace the seals and there are only a few in the whole country. Iv been 5 months paying payments through john deere on a machine i cant use, sell, or trade in. Has anyone else had this issue? What kind of manufacturer produces a product and then doesnt have the tools to fix it? Im very upset with John Deere.

Is it a tool to install or remove the seal? What is the tool part number? Is your tractor tore apart at the dealer now? Have you talked to a different dealer? Have you talked to the corporate service rep? Do you have pictures?

What bothers me is that a company like DEERE that should know how to build solid reliable tractors, after so many years, is so fixated on building ever more "FANCY" and complicated tractors, that the essential basics are overlooked, or maybe they just don't care.

They are saying its a special tool to remove/install on rear axle. The tractor is still at my house. Called John deere customer service and it was a joke.

I know dealers of all kinds have to spend alot on special tools. Never heard any say they couldn't do a job on account of not having a particular tool. I mean, a customer shouldn't even be hearing that.

Tell me about it. This is all supposed to be warranty work. What good is warranty if you cant fix the tractor they sell. Iv lost alot of money. The tractor is sitting at home unusable for 5 months
with no way to repair in site!

How much oil leaks out when you use it? It would have to be a lot if the tractor is totally unusable.

Demand they add the amount of time it was down to the end of your warranty.(and tell us how that goes).

The dealer says they don't have the tool and all you have done is called customer service? You need to get to the regional service rep so he can look at it and get the tool to the dealer. After 5 months you need to stop talking to the same people and get to the ones that get it done. Did you get your problem in writing yet from the dealer? Do you have a case number?
