An option is to Wire a 12 vdc hour meter to a power source that only has power when engine is running like fuel shut off solenoid.

A simple needle valve restricts in both directions and may or may not have any arrows. A flow control that restricts in one direction and free flows the other will typically have an arrow showing direction of controlled flow.

Another option for liquid ballast is RV anti-freeze or windshield washer fluid. Not as heavy and rimguard but also does not smell and get slimy like rim guard. RV anti freeze is also non toxic to animals, not sure what it does to plants or grass.

Is the rotate a motor or a cylinder? If a cylinder you just an orifice in one line typically the cap end. If a motor you may have to have an orifice in each line metering oil in and free reverse flow to prevent back pressure which could damage shaft seals.

If you have a port or two you can run a piece of clear hose or tubing external from tractor for oil level indicator. You would need to protect it from damage.

In what position are the back hoe cylinders when checking fluid level? Generic rule of thumb is estimate 15-20% volume difference on extended cylinder vs retracted.

If you can see the directional control valve you should be able to tell if it has the regenerative (fast) dump feature. Look at the spring cap assembly on both the lift - lower and curl - dump spools. Are they the same or is curl - dump shorter? If same it most likely has regenerative dump if...

Can you see the loader valve. If yes can you observe the spool movement while operating the joy stick. Possible cable connection came lose or broke for movement in one direction. Same on joy stick end. Does everything seem tight and operate similar to raise lower?

My Branson is very similar in size to a B2601 and R1 are borderline in tying the power to ground before spinning so highly doubtful R14 or R4 would do as well.

For dirt work nothing will beat R1 for traction to put power to the ground under most working conditions. The lugs will bite in and clean better when ground is at less than ideal working conditions.

You probably didn’t hurt anything if you didn’t use hydraulics to lift a load. The thicker oil potentially starved the pump some but at low pressure should not have damaged anything. Drain and refill with proper oil should be good to go.

Not as long as the zerks will take grease. Sometimes the weight of the loader will prevent a zerk from taking grease so then it must be repositioned to remove the load on that joint.

What size rocks are you talking about? Softball, basketball, bigger? If to many rocks you had best get a trip beam or auto-reset type mold board plow and only plow when conditions are right and not when clay is shiny coming off the bottoms.

I grease my loader in what ever position it happens to be in. I have replaced most if not all of original zerks since they quit taking grease. I believe wear is not so much position greased in vs frequency of greasing during use.

What is the hydraulic flow for implement functions on your tractor. Doubtful that the 1/4” hole would cause the backhoe to not operate but anything is possible.

If not NGK or some name brand and part number, You can pull one out and measure it and then try to cross reference it to a name brand. That is what I did for my Branson.

If you hook the lines of the cylinder together it WILL extend if there is a load trying to extend the cylinder. No other concerns for connecting the hoses together.

The big unknown is how fast do you want the cylinder to extend? If my math is correct 22 GPM will extend a 5” cylinder at rate of approx 300 inches per minute or 5” per second. To me that seems fast enough but I also am not splitting any serious amounts of wood.

What you can try is to push down on the pedal and drive forward slowly while turning. This would cause the rear wheels to rotate at slightly different speeds until the diff lock engages. Doing this would provide some feedback on how much the pedal moves when engaged vs not engaged.

The Deere X7 series have option for front mount snow blower or blades. The float is for running either of these over uneven terrain. Suspect you may be correct on moisture ingression and rust being a contributing factor to difficult movement.

I have Branson 2400H which is 24 engine HP and aprox 18 PTO HP on a 52” blower. It works but slow so would say you want 40 - 50 PTO HP to keep moving though heavy snow.

I believe that model loader backhoe had the variable volume piston pump with load sense or pilot control. It could be that the pilot control is randomly getting a pressure signal or some crud is stuck in it. Do you have equipment to take any pressure readings for diagnostic purposes?

You might have to put transmission in neutral or drive ahead slightly while lowering to lift front wheels. My Branson is occasionally this way due to tractor must roll forward for front to lift.

Google search showed some flashing bulb options but not sure if they flash continuous or for a few seconds and then go solid. I.e. brake application I recently went from X540 with no tail light to X738 So the lights to me are an improvement.

I may be the odd duck but I have never worried about using my compressor in the winter. How is it different from starting a cold small air cooled engine like on a snowblower. They are both splash lubed.

Then it does point towards motor leaking or bypassing all the oil. Simple test while trying to pull a load check the hose temp (oil) temp exiting the motor vs entering. If leaking the exit hose will get warm or hot.

Set bucket flat on the ground and unplug the quick disconnects for curl and dump. Raise the loader and watch to Confirm there are no external leaks. If bucket dumps then a cylinder seal is leaking. If it doesn’t move the valve is leak path.

Is below how the motor is plumbed? From SCV to motor via power beyond. From motor back to rock shaft (where PB used to connect)

How did you plumb in your power beyond circuit?

A machine shop should be able to make a lever arm that clamps on that shaft tightly. Or can you saw cut what you have and then use a square U-bolt to pinch it tight?

Rear mount blower is significantly less costly than front mount. Depending on where you live and snowfall type and amount there is also 3 point pull type blowers so still facing forward while blowing.

Maybe look for a set of wings for your existing blade. That way you would have both options also.

First picture hold the nut on the tube and then spin the hose off. Yes can use some heat but be careful on how much so don’t scorch the oil. Second picture of quick disconnect the hose end should unscrew and again careful with heat.

Start with simple stuff and check oil level for hydraulic system. If it has been sitting for an extended period of time it is possible that a pump inlet hose has dried out or weather checked and cracked allowing air to be drawn in.

Agree looks like dispenses both but on all the DEF equipment that I have been around the DEF nozzle is smaller in diameter. If dispenses both through same nozzle I would buy my diesel elsewhere.

I suspect that your link is trying to push or pull the spool sideways causing the binding. I have seen what looks like a roller chain connecting link used to help with that offset movement.

Doubtful you could weld that shaft and keep it within dimensional tolerances of being straight and square. Are there any markings on the pump housing itself indicating brand or a model number. Bigger concern is what caused it to break? I would suspect shock load from over pressure.

Typically for any major repair on tractor transmission you have to split (separate) the engine from the transmission and or pull an axle off the transmission. Both of which a pit would be of little to no value and possibly a hindrance.

Can you add spacers where the fenders mount to the axle to increase clearance or does 3 point lever and other items go through the fenders making this a difficult option also.

Rolling basket will help bust up the clods but not sure how much it will help level since they really don’t move much of dirt.

The manual shows fill amount for doing a complete drain and refill vs just changing the filter. 4 wheel steer have longer axle housing to incorporate the space for rear wheels to pivot so could take slightly more oil.

Pepto bismal Flow restrictor that restricts in both directions will keep semi consistent in both directions if and repeat IF it is installed in the line that controls gravity movement. Other option is flow control in both lines to cylinder so can control speed individually in both directions.

Pressure is usually set by system relief for both the loader and rear remotes. Does the loader operate properly? Possible there is a leak in the power beyond plug or sleeve limiting pressure to the rear remote.

What does the rest of the rim look like. Be surprised if that is the only rusty spot.

Bearing should slide off the axle with that bolt removed. They may have some crud and or rust preventing them from sliding off. Bearings should be a press fit in the rims.

I would use either of those NGK plugs in your X730 Kawasaki engine. Doubt you would notice .002 difference in gap either.

Air in cylinders would not prevent the loader from lifting. It would potentially be bouncy but it would still lift to full height. If pump is starving for oil or sucking air that could potentially limit lifting but typically you will hear the pump cavitating since sounds like rock crusher.

Do you have any tractor salvage yards in your area? Possible they might have some in better shape especially if used across multiple models like 706, 806, etc.

Which way is the cylinder moving when you put it in “float”. Is it extending or retracting?

When you screw the fitting in Try to keep the O-ring in area without threads. This allows the O-ring to seal on a smooth surface and less chance of O-ring being deformed in the threads

If your ground is as dry and hard as here in northern Illinois that disc may only scratch the surface. We are having traction problems pulling disc ripper since tire lugs won’t bite in the hard ground. This is a 20,000 lb ripper and 50,000+ lb tractor.

Eaton had the “high pressure” seal option for some of the geroler or geroter style motors. Best is if they have a case drain line but that costs extra and would require a line in the rotating swivel. My son just bought one of them so will see how his lasts.

Which function do you have to operate for the thumb to function? That should be the only function effected by any bucket force on the thumb.

If the diverter is installed in a tank line in such a manner that it creates back pressure on that line it could damage valves and components up stream. I.e. relief valves would operate at higher pressures, potentially blow seals around directional valve spools, worse case crack a valve housing...

What type of disc and what type of soil? If this is unbroken sod it will take a heavy disc or an offset disc to work it up unless light sandy soil. What are you planting in the spring?

Is squishing down retracting the left lift cylinder but not the right? You need to verify what line this diverter is connected to. I would be concerned that it might be a tank line which would cause the back hoe to leak around the spools and if pressure builds to high crack the castings.

What type of diverter valves do you have and where are they plumbed in the circuit. If installed correctly a diverter should not have any effect on seals or how back hoe valve functions. Some pictures of the valves installed might help.

Are the couplers you are referring to the quick disconnects that allow you to disconnect the loader? If yes they are bi-directional flow.

On my 2400H Branson there is an adjustment to limit lift arm height. Would have to dig the manual out but if feeble memory is correct it is the same feedback lever to stop lift based on command position. Your model may not have position control so that may not be an option for you.

In some cases you may have to remove a line or two to gain access he problem. Just be 110% certain to identify which hose goes where so don’t create it doesn’t work problem…

I presume the thumb valve is electrically operated so would look into how the power is supplied to the thumb control vs the seat swivel. Might be as simple as some relay not working but that is 100% pure guesstimate on my part.

I rake the leaves into piles then grab them with my homemade thumb type grapple and haul them off to dumping area. Getting older so trying to work smarter not harder plus it gives me more seat time.

The 3 point return oil would typically dump directly into the transmission final drive housing so a hose up under the hood should have no effect on the 3 point lowering.

Hopefully you can get all that crud cleaned out of that tank and remind the operator that the fuel pump is not a trash pump….

Is this the 3 point hitch arms or front end loader? I suspect 3 point but not sure since replaced hose under the hood. If 3 point did you move the rate drop control when replacing the hose?

Like roadworthy states try lowering the three point some. If loader now works your 3 point feed needs adjusting. Both halves of quick disconnects can fail so just changing hose end may not solve the problem if it is a QD failure. Is pump quiet when loader is not in use?

Restriction orifice needs to be in the line that control flow out of cylinder when lowering or moving via gravity especially if you have PO check in the circuit.
