I thought those 10 speeds had all kinds of problems.
Seems they did have some grief with them and we did as well, we had a valve that was not working properly so it was replaced made shifting normal again. It was under warranty and I would buy another 10 speed from ford.

Earlier this summer I was in northern Wisconsin and when I went to start my truck the battery was stone dead. I hadn't left any lights on so I couldn't figure out what happened. The 80 amp booster would do nothing. I went to a slow charge for 3 hours and still nothing. I ended up having the truck towed to the local Chevrolet dealer. I was told it was a struggle to get the battery to take a charge but eventually they were able to start it. They could find nothing wrong so I drove it back to Minnesota.

I was still concerned with what had happened so I took to the local dealer. They found two faulty "codes". It seems that the electronic wizards with General Motors send updates sent via satellite to the vehicles. Everything works fine until the signal gets interrupted before completion. The onboard computer continues to search for the signal at the expense of running down the battery.
I had a similar issue (stone-dead battery) on my '19 Colorado. A little troubleshooting showed something was drawing ~10A even with the key off. Turned out to be the fuel pump controller. Apparently they're in an exposed place and eventually water gets in, mechanic said fairly common with GM trucks of that era.
Messed up the (year old) battery too, truck was acting squirrely afterwards until I replaced it.

I considered the Ranger, because it is quite big and certainly bigger than the Maverick, but unfortunately, you can't get it in a six seat configuration. So, I'll have to stick with the F150. Not buying a new one yet anyway, because my 2016 F150 works just fine, and the previous generation six speed automatic transmission has performed flawlessly these past 10 years.

I bought a new F150 in 2016 also. Drove it for 8 years and it was also flawless in that time. All I ever did was change oil/filters and rotate the tires. It had 3 recalls - but they were for silly things I didn't care about so I didn't have them done. If my needs hadn't changed I'd still be driving it. Loved that truck!
