I have a ford 4000
3 cylinder / diesel / 8 speed manual transmission. I believe the year is between 1965-1968. And we have been having hydraulic issues for a while and and just got around to taking the top cover off to clean and change the hydraulic filters. And lo and behold the inside there was a layer of sludge in the bottom of the tank.
I pulled the intake/suction filter out and saw that it was torn and caved in. I went to two new Holland dealers to find a replacement but I had no luck. Apparently it is really hard to find. They recommended to call salvage yards across the country and try to hunt one down.
If I could get any help with the matter I would be very grateful.
Attached are some photos.
