I've had lots of issues over the years from service at dealerships. From dirt/ grease marks left on the interior, garnishes not completely installed, small scratches. Gotta check everything over before you leave the lot. No idea why they can't check it themselves before they give you back the keys.

I've had many similar problems, but always moreso at non-dealer shops, than dealer shops. Most dealerships around here run a tighter ship that the independent shops, but of course there are exceptions on both sides of that line.

How about taking your brand new pickup into the dealership you bought it at for it's first oil change? Anyone have them drop it off the lift? Happened to my Dad at a dealership in Texas. Don't know if anyone was fired, but I am sure there was some tail chewing done while Daddy waited in the customer waiting room. They refused to give him a new truck but knowing my Dad, they probably paid dearly to get him to keep it.
A limb fell thru the windshield, took out the dash and broke the shift tower on the tranny. Insurance company said it would be a total loss. Daddy said, no problem, find me another like it or fix the one I have. When they found out what the mileage was, they fixed it. (then they cancelled his full coverage but let him keep the liability. Daddy was about 88 when they hid the keys from him. (Now 96!)

Anyone have them drop it off the lift?

Not at a dealership, but I had some tires installed at Sears in the early 90's on my 1984 Ford pickup and they dropped one corner off. Bent up the lower bedside ahead of the left wheel.

I know I don’t work under cars for a living, but I can’t imagine ever becoming so complacent with that chore, as to not make damn sure the jack stand or lift pads are located very securely under the frame or lift points. I’d go so far as to argue that any mechanic who’s dropped a vehicle off the lift without seriously-mitigating circumstances, should be flagged as the wrong personality type to ever be employed in another garage. That sh*t can kill someone.
