bought a toro , titan thanks , thanks thank you for your valuable time
congrats on the new mower
If the quality of cut is so good, why do you have to double cut? Not trying to be a wise a$$, just curious
Great question Duds13--I have always been particular about how my lawn looks. When I double cut the lawn the second cut is at a different angle. When finished it gives my lawn a look that I call plaid, some call it diamonds. For the record I don't have to double cut, it looks great with a single cut too, but as stated earlier I like the look that I get when I double cut the yard!! My saying is "I'm so glad it's plaid!!"

Makes total sense! I get that plaid look as well even after waiting a couple days in between mowing. love the plaid look!

If I were only cutting once per week in May, I’d have to double cut, too. Sometimes weather restrictions force that, but I normally try to mow every 3-4 days in spring. By late June, that slows way down, and I can often go July 4 - August 15 with just two or three mowings over a six week stretch, but our grass grows more than a half inch per day in spring.

Figure 4” cut height, half inch per day, you’re cutting 6” down to 4” after four days. That’s the recommended 1/3 maximum recommended.

If I let my lawn go more than four days in normal spring weather, it looks like I’m preparing to bale hay, after cutting.

I use the "mow high, mow often" theory. Spring and fall grass is crazy though, and like you said it's starting to slow down and it's been a bit dry here recently.

There are others of course and most like the one they have. Just stay clear of big box stores, buy commericial, and U should be good for a long time.

IS Ferris the only one offering this good suspension I'm reading about here? what about Imark, JD or others.

The Stihl mowers are made by Ferris and have the same suspension. I used mine all afternoon today on some bumpy ground and it was comfortable on my back.
