I'm no fan of Chickanic. I've seen a few too many of her videos claiming to prove something when in fact they were just poorly designed experiments which proved nothing (a real mechanic who was not just out for clicks would have known better).

I don't watch her reviews either.

I have gas & battery saws. The recent Greenworks 80v is great, I carry 2 charged batteries. For just dropping a tree or limbing, it's great, no fumes & quiet. I also use the Greenworks 40v I've had for years, and DeWalt pole saw.
It's all good depends on what I need to do.

I got a charge out of her intro where she's pulling a fuel (or impulse line) with a pair of needle nose pliers... Not much there I'd say.

I used to watch 'Boston Trucker' as well but quit his channel when he became way too commercialized. In fact, once they go down the 'Merch' route or start pushing their 'Patreon' page which is nothing but a paid subscription, I loose interest pretty fast. Even FSC Trucking is going down the tubes for me. Used to watch his channel quite a bit but not anymore. Another one pushing the 'Merch' crap.

For me, YT is nothing but pure entertainment and I'm not about to pay to subscribe to any channel. Not gonna happen. Like that Andrew Camarata guy. I avoid his channel like the plague. That and 'Diesel Creek'. When creators start to make big money off their YT vids, it's time for me to leave and not go back.

Why I would never be a premium member here as well.

Her ethanol tests are bogus but everything else seems to hold water (not quite a pun).

You should see what the water utility uses to clamp home water lines when replacing the feed off the main to the meter. A clamp with 2' jaws and 8' levers. Pinches the line, stops most water flow.

Too involved when all you have to do is use canned gas. I never drain the tanks, in fact I keep them full when not in use. Canned gas has none of the undesirable side effects that corn squeezed gas has.

Only $25/gallon!

But Bri says any time she finds red stuff in the tank, out it goes. Fresh mix goes in, and usually it starts.

In fact, I drain the e-gas out of my summer equipment and add a quart of canned gas to each one and they start right up the next spring. You can get it in pre mix or straight canned gas, no premix, your choice.

I never did. Turned the petcock off on the Honda engine Husqvarna mower, run until it stopped, any time I wasn't certain to mow next week. E10 gasoline in that carburetor seemed to go bad in a couple weeks.

Did nothing on others, using E10, no trouble over the winter.

You are getting ripped at 25 a gallon. I usually pay about 18 here.

Besides, the only saw that I own with a primer bulb is my CS Echo.

Most of the opinions on ethanol are anecdotal, unfortunately. Ethanol free gas is really hard to get in our area, so I just use pump gas in the 2 stroke and 4 stroke small engines. I put some stabilizer in it when I buy it, try to remember to run the engines dry before storage (but forget sometimes) and I've never had a problem. Maybe I'm just lucky, but if it came to the point I had to buy the expensive canned gas, I would go battery powered or diesel on everything.

Actually, there is good science regarding the problems with ethanol in gas. However, many of the issues (at least in more modern engines) are related to either the shorter shelf-life or what happens when Ethanol blended gas absorbs moisture and goes through phase separation. Modern engines have mostly dealt with the worst of the materials incompatibility that older engines had (ethanol attacking components such as hoses/seals/diaphragms).

E10 gas works out OK in small engines for those who store it properly, turn it over quickly and don't have major moisture/humidity problems.
